On October 10, 2025, the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University (MDKKU), led by Associate Professor Thuss Sanguansak, MD, Vice Dean for International Relations and Corporate Communication, and Associate Professor Kosin Wirasorn, MD, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, warmly welcomed a delegation from the Ministry of Health and the University of Health Sciences, Lao PDR.
The meeting focused on strengthening academic cooperation in postgraduate medical training, particularly in the fields of Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Anesthesiology, with the goal of advancing Human Resources for Health (HRH) development in Lao PDR. This initiative represents a shared commitment to enhancing medical education and fostering long-term collaboration between the two institutions.
Following the meeting, the Lao delegation visited KKU’s Clinical Simulation Center, where they observed advanced simulation technologies used in surgical and procedural training. The visit also included discussions on modern teaching methodologies, trainee assessment systems, quality assurance mechanisms, and initiatives supporting patient safety.

วันที่ 10 ตุลาคม 2568 คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น นำโดย รองศาสตราจารย์ ธรรศ สงวนศักดิ์ รองคณบดีฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์และสื่อสารองค์กร และ รองศาสตราจารย์ โกสินทร์ วิระษร รองคณบดีฝ่ายวิชาการ ให้การต้อนรับคณะผู้แทนจาก กระทรวงสาธารณสุข สาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนลาว และ มหาวิทยาลัยวิทยาศาสตร์สุขภาพ (University of Health Sciences) สปป.ลาว เพื่อหารือแนวทางการเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือในการฝึกอบรมแพทย์ประจำบ้านและแพทย์ประจำบ้านต่อยอดในสาขาวิชาอายุรศาสตร์ ศัลยศาสตร์ สูติศาสตร์และนรีเวชวิทยา และวิสัญญีวิทยา
การหารือดังกล่าวมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อร่วมกันพัฒนาศักยภาพบุคลากรทางการแพทย์และสร้างความเข้มแข็งให้แก่ระบบ การพัฒนาทรัพยากรบุคคด้านสุขภาพ ของสาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนลาว อันเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการพัฒนาความร่วมมือทางการแพทย์และการศึกษาระหว่างสองประเทศที่มีมาอย่างยาวนาน
นอกจากนี้ คณะผู้แทนจาก สปป.ลาว ได้เยี่ยมชม หน่วยฝึกทักษะทางคลินิก (Clinical Simulation Center) ของคณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น เพื่อศึกษาการใช้เทคโนโลยีการจำลองในการฝึกผ่าตัด การทำหัตถการทางการแพทย์ ตลอดจนแนวทางการสอนและการประเมินผลแบบสมัยใหม่ กลไกการประกันคุณภาพการฝึกอบรม และการมีส่วนร่วมในการเสริมสร้างความปลอดภัยของผู้ป่วย

On Wednesday, October 8, 2025, the International Affairs Unit, under the Division of Educational Services and Student Development, Faculty of Nursing, Khon Kaen University, led a group of nursing students from Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine and Jiujiang University, China, on a study visit to the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University.
The visit was organized as part of an academic exchange program aimed at enhancing international students’ understanding of Thailand’s healthcare system, with a particular focus on cardiac nursing and patient-centered care. The program also sought to strengthen academic collaboration between Khon Kaen University and partner institutions in China.
During the visit, the students received a warm welcome from faculty members and medical professionals at the Queen Sirikit Heart Center of the Northeast. They toured several key departments, including the Cardiovascular Emergency Room, Outpatient Department, and Medical Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The visit provided opportunities for the students to observe real clinical settings, learn about multidisciplinary teamwork, and explore Thailand’s approach to delivering high-quality and compassionate cardiac care.
This activity not only enriched the professional and cultural learning experiences of the visiting students but also served as a meaningful platform to promote long-term academic cooperation between Khon Kaen University and Chinese nursing institutions. Through such collaboration, both sides aim to contribute to the global advancement of nursing education and healthcare quality.
คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มข. เปิดบ้านศูนย์หัวใจสิริกิติ์ฯ ต้อนรับนักศึกษาพยาบาลจากประเทศจีนศึกษาดูงาน
เมื่อวันพุธที่ 8 ตุลาคม 2568 หน่วยการต่างประเทศ งานบริการการศึกษาและพัฒนานักศึกษา คณะพยาบาลศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ได้นำนักศึกษาพยาบาลจาก Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine และ Jiujiang University ประเทศจีน เข้าศึกษาดูงานด้านการพยาบาลและระบบบริการสุขภาพ ณ คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น
การศึกษาดูงานครั้งนี้จัดขึ้นภายใต้โครงการแลกเปลี่ยนทางวิชาการ เพื่อเปิดโอกาสให้นักศึกษาพยาบาลจากต่างประเทศได้เรียนรู้แนวทางการดูแลผู้ป่วยตามมาตรฐานของประเทศไทย ตลอดจนเข้าใจระบบบริการสุขภาพของไทยในระดับโรงพยาบาลตติยภูมิ ซึ่งมีความพร้อมทั้งด้านบุคลากร เทคโนโลยี และการบริการแบบองค์รวม
ในระหว่างการศึกษาดูงาน นักศึกษาทุกคนได้รับการต้อนรับอย่างอบอุ่นจากคณะแพทยศาสตร์ และได้เข้าเยี่ยมชมหน่วยงานสำคัญ ได้แก่ ศูนย์หัวใจสิริกิติ์ภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ ห้องฉุกเฉินโรคหัวใจและหลอดเลือด แผนกผู้ป่วยนอก และ หอผู้ป่วยหนักอายุรศาสตร์ โดยมีทีมพยาบาลผู้เชี่ยวชาญและอาจารย์แพทย์ให้คำแนะนำเกี่ยวกับแนวทางการดูแลผู้ป่วยโรคหัวใจ การเฝ้าระวังอาการอย่างใกล้ชิด และการทำงานร่วมกันอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพระหว่างทีมสหสาขาวิชาชีพ
กิจกรรมครั้งนี้ไม่เพียงช่วยเสริมสร้างความรู้และประสบการณ์ทางวิชาชีพแก่นักศึกษาพยาบาลต่างชาติเท่านั้น แต่ยังเป็นการเชื่อมโยงความสัมพันธ์อันดีระหว่างมหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่นกับสถาบันการศึกษาชั้นนำจากประเทศจีน ต่อยอดสู่ความร่วมมือด้านการเรียนการสอน การวิจัย และการแลกเปลี่ยนบุคลากรทางการพยาบาลในอนาคต เพื่อพัฒนาความก้าวหน้าทางสุขภาพในระดับนานาชาติอย่างยั่งยืน

On October 6, 2025, the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University warmly welcomed Dr. Ekaterina Chernova, a first-year Neurology Resident from Privolzhsky Research Medical University, Russian Federation, who joined a medical exchange program at the faculty.
This program aims to foster academic collaboration and cultural exchange between medical institutions. Dr. Chernova will participate in two academic departments during her stay:
The orientation day on October 6 served as an introduction to the faculty and its learning environment. During the morning session, Dr. Chernova was introduced to key information about the Faculty of Medicine and major facilities such as Srinagarind Hospital, academic departments, and the canteen. She also participated in a Basic Thai Language session to support daily communication.
In the afternoon, she learned how to use the KKU Transit system and took a KKU shuttle bus tour to explore various locations around the campus, including the sports complex, fitness center, museum, Art Center, Agricultural Park, and Food & Service Center (KKU Complex).
This exchange program reflects the Faculty of Medicine’s commitment to enhancing international collaboration, promoting cross-cultural learning, and strengthening academic and professional ties between Khon Kaen University and medical institutions around the world.

วันที่ 6 ตุลาคม 2568 คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ให้การต้อนรับ Dr. Ekaterina Chernova แพทย์ประจำบ้านสาขาประสาทวิทยา ชั้นปีที่ 1 จาก Privolzhsky Research Medical University สหพันธรัฐรัสเซีย (Russia) ซึ่งเดินทางมาเข้าร่วมโครงการแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้ ณ คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น
โครงการดังกล่าวจัดขึ้นเพื่อส่งเสริมการแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้และประสบการณ์ทางการแพทย์ระหว่างสถาบัน โดย Dr. Chernova จะเข้าร่วมการเรียนรู้ในสองสาขาวิชา ได้แก่

The delegation was warmly welcomed by Prof. Shota Nakamura from the Department of Infection Metagenomics, Genome Information Research Center, and his research team and students, who introduced RIMD’s groundbreaking research and technological advancements. The visit focused particularly on Metagenomics, a field that plays a pivotal role in understanding microbial pathogens, developing next-generation vaccines, and enhancing infectious disease diagnostics with greater precision.
Collaborative Research to Shape the Future of Medicine
During the visit, Assoc. Prof. Supranee Phanthanawiboon presented a joint research project between the Faculty of Medicine, KKU, and RIMD titled “Metagenomic NTM Diagnosis Service Prototype for Enhanced Diagnostic and Treatment Outcomes.” The project aims to develop a prototype diagnostic system for Nontuberculous Mycobacteria (NTM) using Metagenomic Analysis, enabling faster and more accurate diagnosis to improve patient treatment outcomes. This collaborative project is supported by the Health Systems Research Institute (HSRI) of Thailand, with a research grant of over 2.3 million THB, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supranee Punthtanvibul from KKU and Prof. Shota Nakamura from RIMD.
Meanwhile, Asst. Prof. Atibordee Meesing, Deputy Director of Srinagarind Hospital, shared insights on KKU Faculty of Medicine’s strong capabilities in medical services, research, and infectious disease management. He emphasized that collaboration with RIMD will drive innovation in combating emerging infectious diseases and promote health security across the region.

ด้าน รศ.นพ.ภัทรพงศ์ มกรเวส คณบดีคณะแพทยศาสตร์ กล่าวเสริมว่า “การเยือน RIMD ในครั้งนี้เป็นมากกว่าการแลกเปลี่ยนทางวิชาการ แต่คือการวางรากฐานความร่วมมือเชิงลึกที่จะยกระดับคุณภาพงานวิจัยของเราให้มีผลกระทบในระดับนานาชาติ ทั้งในด้านการวินิจฉัย การรักษา และการพัฒนานักวิจัยรุ่นใหม่ของภูมิภาค”

The delegation was warmly welcomed by Prof. Yoshiharu Matsuura, Former Director of CiDER and RIMD, Specially Appointed Professor in Virology, Head of the Laboratory of Virus Control, Research Center for Infectious Disease Control, RIMD, and Assoc. Prof. Shota Nakamura, Department of Infection Metagenomics, Genome Information Research Center, RIMD, The University of Osaka.
During the meeting, Prof. Matsuura shared CiDER’s achievements and research strengths in infectious and microbial diseases. Asst. Prof. Atibordee Meesing presented Srinagarind Hospital’s academic, clinical, and infectious disease expertise, sharing real patient cases and highlighting MDKKU’s capacity in both research and clinical service.
Notably, Prof. Matsuura and Assoc. Prof. Nakamura had previously visited MDKKU to explore academic and research collaboration and implement the joint research project “Metagenomic NTM Diagnosis Service Prototype for Enhanced Diagnostic and Treatment Outcomes”, in which Assoc. Prof. Supranee Phanthanawiboon serves as the principal investigator and coordinator. The project aims to develop advanced metagenomic tools for rapid and accurate diagnosis of non-tuberculous mycobacterial infections, reinforcing MDKKU’s leadership in translational infectious disease research.
The visit to CiDER represents a significant continuation and elevation of this partnership, focusing on strengthening ties and fostering the next generation of high-potential researchers. This strategic collaboration will facilitate the exchange of MDKKU graduate students, providing immersive hands-on training in cutting-edge laboratories, mentorship from world-class scientists, and access to advanced laboratory techniques. เมื่อวันที่ 2 ตุลาคม 2568 คณะผู้แทนจากคณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น เดินทางเยือน Center of Infectious Disease Education and Research (CiDER), The University of Osaka ประเทศญี่ปุ่น เพื่อสำรวจโอกาสใหม่ในการร่วมมือด้านวิจัยและการแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษาในสาขาโรคติดเชื้อ

คณะผู้แทนได้รับการต้อนรับอย่างอบอุ่นจาก Prof. Yoshiharu Matsuura อดีตผู้อำนวยการ CiDER และ RIMD ปัจจุบันดำรงตำแหน่งศาสตราจารย์พิเศษด้านไวรัสวิทยา และหัวหน้าห้องปฏิบัติการ Virus Control และ Assoc. Prof. Shota Nakamura จาก Department of Infection Metagenomics, Genome Information Research Center
ในการประชุมครั้งนี้ Prof. Yoshiharu Matsuura ได้นำเสนอความสำเร็จและความเข้มแข็งด้านงานวิจัยของ CiDER ในสาขาโรคติดเชื้อ ขณะที่ ผศ. อธิบดี มีสิงห์ ได้นำเสนอศักยภาพด้านวิชาการ การบริการทางคลินิก และความเชี่ยวชาญด้านโรคติดเชื้อของโรงพยาบาลศรีนครินทร์ คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น พร้อมยกตัวอย่างผู้ป่วยจริง และชี้ให้เห็นศักยภาพของ มข. ทั้งด้านการวิจัยและการบริการทางคลินิก
ทั้งนี้ Prof. Yoshiharu Matsuura และ Assoc. Prof. Shota Nakamura เคยมาเยือนคณะแพทยศาสตร์ มข. เพื่อหารือในการพัฒนาความร่วมมือและดำเนินงานโครงการวิจัย “Metagenomic NTM Diagnosis Service Prototype for Enhanced Diagnostic and Treatment Outcomes” โดย รศ.สุปราณี พันธุ์ธนวิบูลย์ ทำหน้าที่เป็นนักวิจัยหลักและผู้ประสานงานโครงการ โครงการนี้มีเป้าหมายเพื่อพัฒนาระบบการตรวจวินิจฉัยเชื้อ NTM ที่มีความแม่นยำและรวดเร็วยิ่งขึ้น
การเยือน CiDER ครั้งนี้ถือเป็นการต่อยอดความร่วมมืออย่างยิ่งใหญ่ มุ่งเน้นการเสริมสร้างความสัมพันธ์และพัฒนานักวิจัยรุ่นใหม่ที่มีศักยภาพ ความร่วมมือเชิงกลยุทธ์นี้เปิดโอกาสให้นักศึกษาระดับบัณฑิตศึกษาของคณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ได้เข้าร่วมแลกเปลี่ยนและฝึกปฏิบัติวิจัยในห้องปฏิบัติการล้ำสมัย พร้อมรับคำแนะนำจากนักวิจัยชั้นนำระดับโลก และเข้าถึงเทคนิคห้องปฏิบัติการขั้นสูง โดย CiDER ยินดีต้อนรับนักศึกษาเหล่านี้อย่างเต็มที่ เพื่อสร้างนักวิจัยรุ่นใหม่ที่จะช่วยเสริมสร้างเครือข่ายวิจัยระดับโลก ขับเคลื่อนนวัตกรรม และยกระดับงานวิจัยโรคติดเชื้อให้ก้าวไกลในระดับสากล

The Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, is delighted to welcome Dr. Duangmany Thammavong, an internist from Mahosot Hospital, Ministry of Health, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, who has officially commenced a two-year Fellowship Training in Oncology at the Department of Internal Medicine. The program runs from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2027.
This training program signifies an important step in strengthening academic collaboration between the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, and medical institutions in the Lao PDR. It aims not only to enhance the professional expertise of medical specialists but also to contribute to the advancement of healthcare systems in the region. By facilitating opportunities for mutual exchange of knowledge and clinical experience, the program serves as a bridge for fostering long-term academic and professional partnerships.
The Faculty’s support for Dr. Thammavong reflects its broader commitment to internationalization—expanding academic cooperation with overseas institutions, promoting the exchange of students and healthcare professionals, and creating a dynamic academic environment conducive to both learning and innovation. Through such initiatives, the Faculty continues to strengthen its role as a leading medical education hub in the region and beyond.
คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ต้อนรับแพทย์จาก สปป.ลาว เข้าศึกษาต่อด้านมะเร็งวิทยา
คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ให้การต้อนรับ Dr. Duangmany Thammavong อายุรแพทย์จากโรงพยาบาลมโหสถ กระทรวงสาธารณสุข สาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนลาว (สปป. ลาว) ในโอกาสเข้าศึกษาและเพิ่มพูนทักษะในอนุสาขาวิชามะเร็งวิทยา (Fellowship Training in Oncology) ณ สาขาวิชาอายุรศาสตร์ เป็นระยะเวลา 2 ปี ตั้งแต่วันที่ 1 กันยายน 2568 ถึงวันที่ 31 สิงหาคม 2570
การเข้าศึกษาในครั้งนี้ถือเป็นก้าวสำคัญของความร่วมมือด้านวิชาการระหว่างคณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น และสถาบันทางการแพทย์ของ สปป.ลาว โดยมีเป้าหมายเพื่อเสริมสร้างสมรรถนะทางวิชาชีพของแพทย์ผู้เชี่ยวชาญ ตลอดจนสนับสนุนการพัฒนาระบบสาธารณสุขของประเทศเพื่อนบ้านให้เข้มแข็งยิ่งขึ้น พร้อมทั้งเปิดโอกาสให้เกิดการแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้และประสบการณ์ทางคลินิกที่เป็นประโยชน์ร่วมกัน
นอกจากนี้ การต้อนรับ Dr. Duangmany Thammavong ยังสะท้อนถึงความมุ่งมั่นของคณะฯ ในการยกระดับความเป็นนานาชาติ ผ่านการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือกับสถาบันต่างประเทศ การแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษาและบุคลากร ตลอดจนการสร้างบรรยากาศทางวิชาการที่เอื้อต่อการพัฒนาทั้งในด้านวิชาการและวิชาชีพ เพื่อก้าวสู่ความเป็นศูนย์กลางทางการแพทย์ที่มีบทบาทในระดับภูมิภาคและนานาชาติ
