International Relations Office, Faculty of Medicine, KKU, Congratulates Student Interns on Completing Their Professional Internship

 

On March 13, 2026, the International Relations Office, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, proudly congratulates a group of student interns who have successfully completed their professional internship program with the office. Throughout the internship period, the students had the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience while supporting various international activities and initiatives of the faculty.

The internship program aims to provide students with practical learning experiences in an international academic environment, allowing them to apply their language skills, develop professional communication abilities, and gain a deeper understanding of international collaboration in higher education and healthcare institutions.

 

 

The students who successfully completed their professional internships are as follows:

During their internship, the students actively participated in a variety of tasks and activities related to international relations, including assisting with academic coordination, supporting international visitors and exchange programs, preparing documents in multiple languages, and contributing to communication and information dissemination. Through these experiences, the students were able to gain practical knowledge, strengthen their intercultural communication skills, and better understand the role of international collaboration in advancing education and healthcare.

On the final day of the internship program, the students delivered presentations to share the outcomes of their work and reflect on the valuable experiences they gained during their time at the International Relations Office. Their presentations highlighted both the professional skills they had developed and the personal growth they experienced while working in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Reflecting on the internship, one student shared that “this experience has given us the opportunity to apply what we have learned in the classroom to real-world situations. Working with the International Relations Office allowed us to develop confidence in communication, teamwork, and professional responsibility.”

Another student expressed appreciation for the learning environment, noting that “the internship not only strengthened our language and professional skills but also broadened our perspectives on international collaboration. It was truly an inspiring and meaningful experience that will guide us in our future academic and career paths.”

The International Relations Office sincerely appreciates the dedication, enthusiasm, and contributions of all the interns throughout the program. Their commitment and willingness to learn have made the internship both productive and memorable.

จากห้องเรียนสู่ประสบการณ์จริง: นักศึกษาฝึกประสบการณ์วิชาชีพสำเร็จการฝึกปฏิบัติงาน ณ งานวิเทศสัมพันธ์ คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มข.

เมื่อวันที่ 13 มีนาคม 2569 งานวิเทศสัมพันธ์ คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ได้ร่วมแสดงความยินดีกับนักศึกษาฝึกประสบการณ์วิชาชีพที่สำเร็จการฝึกปฏิบัติงานกับหน่วยงาน โดยตลอดระยะเวลาของการฝึกประสบการณ์ฯ นักศึกษาได้มีโอกาสเรียนรู้จากการปฏิบัติงานจริง พร้อมทั้งมีส่วนร่วมสนับสนุนกิจกรรมและโครงการด้านความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศของคณะฯ อย่างใกล้ชิด

โครงการฝึกประสบการณ์วิชาชีพดังกล่าวมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเปิดโอกาสให้นักศึกษาได้เรียนรู้จากสภาพแวดล้อมการทำงานจริงในบริบทนานาชาติ สามารถนำทักษะทางภาษาที่ได้ศึกษาในห้องเรียนมาประยุกต์ใช้ในการทำงาน พัฒนาทักษะการสื่อสารเชิงวิชาชีพ และเสริมสร้างความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับบทบาทของความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศในสถาบันอุดมศึกษาและองค์กรด้านสุขภาพ

ตลอดระยะเวลาการฝึกประสบการณ์ฯ นักศึกษาได้มีส่วนร่วมในภารกิจหลากหลายด้านที่เกี่ยวข้องกับงานวิเทศสัมพันธ์ อาทิ การสนับสนุนการประสานงานทางวิชาการ การให้การต้อนรับและอำนวยความสะดวกแก่ผู้มาเยือนจากต่างประเทศและนักศึกษาแลกเปลี่ยน การจัดเตรียมเอกสารในหลายภาษา ตลอดจนการมีส่วนร่วมในการสื่อสารและเผยแพร่ข้อมูลของหน่วยงาน ประสบการณ์เหล่านี้ช่วยให้นักศึกษาได้พัฒนาความรู้เชิงปฏิบัติ เสริมสร้างทักษะการสื่อสารระหว่างวัฒนธรรม และเข้าใจบทบาทของความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศในการพัฒนาการศึกษาและระบบสาธารณสุข

ในวันสุดท้ายของการประสบการณ์ฯ นักศึกษาได้ร่วมกันนำเสนอผลการปฏิบัติงานและสะท้อนประสบการณ์ที่ได้รับตลอดระยะเวลาการฝึกประสบการณ์ฯ ณ งานวิเทศสัมพันธ์ โดยการนำเสนอได้สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงทั้งทักษะทางวิชาชีพที่นักศึกษาได้พัฒนา รวมถึงการเติบโตด้านมุมมองและประสบการณ์จากการทำงานในสภาพแวดล้อมการทำงานที่มีความหลากหลายและเอื้อต่อการเรียนรู้

หนึ่งในนักศึกษาฝึกประสบการณ์ฯ ได้กล่าวถึงประสบการณ์ครั้งนี้ว่า “การฝึกประสบการณ์ฯ ครั้งนี้เปิดโอกาสให้พวกเราได้นำความรู้ที่เรียนในห้องเรียนมาประยุกต์ใช้กับสถานการณ์จริง อีกทั้งยังช่วยเสริมสร้างความมั่นใจในการสื่อสาร การทำงานเป็นทีม และความรับผิดชอบในบทบาทหน้าที่ของตนเอง”

ขณะที่นักศึกษาอีกคนหนึ่งกล่าวเพิ่มเติมว่า “การได้ฝึกประสบการณ์ฯ กับงานวิเทศสัมพันธ์ทำให้พวกเราได้เปิดมุมมองเกี่ยวกับความร่วมมือทางวิชาการระดับนานาชาติ อีกทั้งยังช่วยพัฒนาทักษะด้านภาษาและทักษะวิชาชีพ ซึ่งเป็นประสบการณ์ที่มีคุณค่าและสร้างแรงบันดาลใจต่อการเรียนและการทำงานในอนาคต”

งานวิเทศสัมพันธ์ คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ขอขอบคุณนักศึกษาฝึกประสบการณ์วิชาชีพทุกคนสำหรับความตั้งใจ ความกระตือรือร้น และความทุ่มเทตลอดระยะเวลาการฝึกปฏิบัติงาน ความมุ่งมั่นในการเรียนรู้ของนักศึกษาทุกคนทำให้ได้รับทั้งประสบการณ์ที่มีคุณค่าและความประทับใจ

Hearts Without Borders: Haruka Shimizu’s Journey of Discovery at MDKKU

 

The Faculty of Medicine at Khon Kaen University (MDKKU) is proud to have played a pivotal role in the professional development of Miss Haruka Shimizu, a third-year Radiologic Technology student from Fujita Health University, Japan.

Haruka recently completed a clinical exchange program at MDKKU’s Department of Radiology, running from February 23 to March 9, 2026. Her journey was defined by a transition from initial hesitation to profound professional confidence.

Before arriving in Thailand, Haruka admitted to significant anxiety regarding her English proficiency. However, driven by a desire to provide better patient care, she chose to step out of her comfort zone.  “I realized that even with a language barrier, communication is always possible if you have the heart to try,” Haruka shared.  By the end of her stay, her fear had evolved into understanding, and she found herself embracing daily English communication with newfound joy.

The exchange offered Haruka exposure to clinical procedures that are less common in Japan. Key highlights of her academic experience included:

  • Tomo-guided Breast Biopsy: Observing high-precision 3D diagnostic techniques for breast lesions.
  • MRI Protocols: Studying specialized safety and efficiency standards tailored for patient-centric care.

Beyond the technology, Haruka was most moved by MDKKU’s “Team Medical Care” culture. She witnessed firsthand how doctors, nurses, and radiographers work as a synchronized unit to ensure the best patient outcomes and minimize patient anxiety.

หัวใจที่ไร้พรมแดน: “ฮารุกะ ชิมิซุ” กับบันทึกความทรงจำล้ำค่าในการแลกเปลี่ยนรังสีเทคนิค ณ MDKKU

คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น (MDKKU) ยินดีอย่างยิ่งที่ได้ร่วมเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในเส้นทางวิชาชีพของ Miss Haruka Shimizu นักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 3 สาขารังสีเทคนิคจาก Fujita Health University ประเทศญี่ปุ่น ที่ได้เดินทางมาแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้และเติมเต็มประสบการณ์ทางคลินิก ณ ภาควิชารังสีวิทยา ระหว่างวันที่ 23 กุมภาพันธ์ – 9 มีนาคม 2569

ฮารุกะกล่าวว่า ก่อนจะเดินทางมาเธอมีความกังวลเกี่ยวกับทักษะภาษาอังกฤษอย่างมาก แต่ด้วยความมุ่งมั่นที่อยากจะพัฒนาตนเองเพื่อการดูแลผู้ป่วยที่ดีขึ้น เธอจึงตัดสินใจก้าวออกจาก Comfort Zone มาสู่รั้วมอดินแดง เธอกล่าวอย่างน่าประทับใจว่า “ฉันตระหนักได้ว่าแม้จะมีกำแพงภาษา แต่การสื่อสารก็เป็นไปได้เสมอหากเรามีหัวใจที่พร้อมจะลอง” ประสบการณ์ที่ KKU ได้เปลี่ยนความกลัวให้กลายเป็นความเข้าใจ และทำให้เธอมีความสุขกับการสื่อสารภาษาอังกฤษมากขึ้นในทุกๆ วัน

ในด้านวิชาการ ฮารุกะได้เข้าไปมีส่วนร่วมในประสบการณ์คลินิกที่หาได้ยากในประเทศญี่ปุ่น โดยเฉพาะการสังเกตการณ์เทคนิคการตรวจ Tomo-guided breast biopsy ซึ่งเป็นการวินิจฉัยรอยโรคในเต้านมแบบ 3 มิติที่มีความแม่นยำสูง รวมถึงการเรียนรู้ความแตกต่างของโปรโตคอล MRI ที่เน้นความปลอดภัยและประสิทธิภาพสูงสุดเพื่อผู้ป่วย สิ่งที่ฮารุกะประทับใจที่สุดคือวัฒนธรรมการทำงานแบบ “Team Medical Care” ของ MDKKU ที่แพทย์ พยาบาล และนักรังสีเทคนิคประสานงานกันเป็นหนึ่งเดียว เพื่อมอบการรักษาที่ดีที่สุดและลดความกังวลให้แก่ผู้ป่วยอย่างยั่งยืน

MDKKU เชื่อมั่นว่าหัวใจที่เปิดกว้างและความตั้งใจที่อยากจะช่วยเหลือผู้ป่วยต่างชาติในอนาคต จะนำพาเธอไปสู่ความสำเร็จในวิชาชีพนักรังสีเทคนิคอย่างแน่นอน

 

 

跨越国界的深情：日本留学生在孔敬大学医学院开启放射技术探索之旅

泰国孔敬大学医学院（MDKKU）近日圆满完成了日本藤田医科大学（Fujita Health University）三年级学生**清水遥（Haruka Shimizu）**的临床交流项目。此次交流不仅彰显了区域医学教育的紧密合作，也见证了青年学子在跨文化环境下的专业成长。

此次交流于2026年2月23日至3月9日在孔敬大学医学院放射科举行。在为期两周的学习中，清水遥经历了从最初的语言焦虑到专业自信的深刻转变。

在抵达泰国之前，清水遥曾对英语交流深感不安。然而，出于对提升患者护理质量的执着，她勇敢地迈出了“舒适区”。

“我意识到，即使存在语言障碍，只要心怀尝试的勇气，沟通便无处不在，”清水遥感慨道。

通过这段经历，她成功将恐惧转化为理解，并学会在日常工作中享受英语沟通带来的快乐。

在学术层面，清水遥参与了多项在日本较为少见的临床观察项目，主要包括：

  • 断层扫描引导下乳腺活检（Tomo-guided Breast Biopsy）： 学习高精度的三维乳腺病灶诊断技术。
  • MRI检查方案： 深入研究旨在确保患者安全与效率的专业化操作流程。

除了技术提升，清水遥对孔敬大学医学院推行的**“团队协作医疗”（Team Medical Care）**文化印象最为深刻。她亲眼见证了医生、护士与放射技师如何如同一体般紧密配合，在提供最佳治疗方案的同时，最大程度地缓解患者的焦虑。

KKU Faculty of Medicine Welcomes Delegation from Aichi University to Strengthen Medical Student Exchange Collaboration

 

On March 4, 2026, the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University warmly welcomed a delegation from Aichi University, Japan, led by Prof. Toyonori Tsuzuki, Director of the Center for International Affairs, and Mr. Kensuke Suzuki, Administrative Staff of the Center for International Affairs. The visit aimed to explore opportunities for academic collaboration, discuss future cooperation, and review facilities available for incoming exchange students.

 

 

On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Daris Theerakulpisut, Assistant for International Relations and Corporate Communication, together with the International Relations Office, hosted the delegation and engaged in strategic discussions. The meeting focused on further developing the medical student exchange program between the two institutions in order to expand international learning opportunities and strengthen the capacity of future medical professionals in line with global standards.

During the visit, the delegation from Aichi University toured several departments within the Faculty to gain insights into academic operations and clinical services, as well as to assess the readiness of facilities and the learning environment for exchange students. The visit included the following departments:

  • Department of Emergency Medicine: The delegation observed the emergency patient management system and advanced medical technologies used in critical care. They also met with two exchange students from Aichi University, Ms. Yuri Iwashiwa and Mr. Satoru Imai, who are currently undertaking clinical observation and exchange activities. The visit was hosted by Assoc. Prof. Pariwat Phoo-ngern, Head of the Department, and Dr. Thanat Tangpaisarn, Assistant for Academic Affairs.
  • Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology: The delegation visited the Labor and Delivery Unit to observe the clinical service system. Assoc. Prof. Teerayut Temtanakitpaisan, Head of the Department, and Assoc. Prof. Amornrat Temtanakitpaisan, Deputy Head of the Department, shared their experience and exchanged perspectives on modern maternal care and obstetric practices.
  • Department of Pathology: Academic discussions were held with Asst. Prof. Sakkarn Sangkhamanon, Head of the Department, and Asst. Prof. Piti Ungareewittaya regarding research collaboration and potential development of future student exchange programs.

In addition, the delegation visited the medical student dormitories to review facilities and the surrounding environment, with particular attention to safety standards and living conditions. This visit aimed to ensure a supportive environment for exchange students during their academic stay at Khon Kaen University.

The visit marks another important step in strengthening the partnership between the two institutions. It also highlights the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University’s commitment to advancing its role as an International Academic Hub, integrating education, research, and student welfare to foster sustainable global medical collaboration.

 

 

 

คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มข. ต้อนรับผู้แทน Aichi University ขยายความร่วมมือด้านการแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษาแพทย์

เมื่อวันที่ 4 มีนาคม 2569 คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ให้การต้อนรับคณะผู้แทนจาก Aichi University ประเทศญี่ปุ่น นำโดย Prof. Toyonori Tsuzuki ผู้อำนวยการ Center for International Affairs และ Mr. Kensuke Suzuki Administrative Staff, Center for International Affairs ในโอกาสเดินทางมาเยือนเพื่อศึกษาดูงาน หารือแนวทางการพัฒนาความร่วมมือทางวิชาการ และสำรวจความพร้อมของสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกสำหรับนักศึกษาแลกเปลี่ยน

ในการนี้ รองศาสตราจารย์ดริส ธีระกุลพิศุทธิ์ ผู้ช่วยฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์และสื่อสารองค์กร พร้อมด้วยงานวิเทศสัมพันธ์ ร่วมให้การต้อนรับและหารือเชิงยุทธศาสตร์ โดยมุ่งเน้นการต่อยอดความร่วมมือด้านโครงการแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษาแพทย์ระหว่างสองสถาบัน เพื่อขยายโอกาสการเรียนรู้ในระดับนานาชาติ และเสริมสร้างศักยภาพของบุคลากรทางการแพทย์ให้สอดคล้องกับมาตรฐานสากล

ในโอกาสนี้ คณะผู้แทนจาก Aichi University ได้เข้าเยี่ยมชมหน่วยงานและสาขาวิชาภายในคณะฯ เพื่อศึกษาภาพรวมการดำเนินงานทางวิชาการและการบริการทางการแพทย์ รวมถึงประเมินความพร้อมด้านสถานที่และสิ่งแวดล้อมในการรองรับนักศึกษาแลกเปลี่ยน โดยประกอบด้วย

  • สาขาวิชาพยาธิวิทยา: หารือด้านความร่วมมือทางวิชาการและการวิจัยร่วมกับ ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์สักการ สังฆมานนท์ หัวหน้าสาขาวิชา และ ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ปิติ อึ้งอารีย์วิทยา โดยมีการแลกเปลี่ยนแนวทางการพัฒนาความร่วมมือด้านการวิจัยและโครงการแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษาในอนาคต

นอกจากนี้ คณะผู้แทนยังได้เยี่ยมชมสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกและสภาพแวดล้อมของหอพักนักศึกษาแพทย์ เพื่อประเมินความพร้อมและมาตรฐานด้านความปลอดภัย ซึ่งเป็นปัจจัยสำคัญในการสร้างความมั่นใจให้แก่นักศึกษาแลกเปลี่ยนในการใช้ชีวิตและการเรียนรู้ภายในมหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น

การเยี่ยมเยือนในครั้งนี้นับเป็นอีกก้าวสำคัญในการกระชับความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างสองสถาบัน และสะท้อนถึงศักยภาพของคณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ในการขับเคลื่อนบทบาทสู่การเป็น International Academic Hub ที่บูรณาการทั้งด้านการศึกษา การวิจัย และการดูแลสวัสดิภาพนักศึกษา เพื่อสร้างเครือข่ายความร่วมมือทางการแพทย์ในระดับสากลอย่างยั่งยืน

Khon Kaen University Bolsters Global Medical Hub Status, Welcomes Japanese and Dutch Scholars

 

The Faculty of Medicine at Khon Kaen University (KKU) has reaffirmed its commitment to international excellence by launching a high-profile exchange program for medical students and researchers from Japan and the Netherlands. This initiative, part of the university’s “Internationalization Transformation” strategy, aims to tackle regional health challenges through collaborative clinical training and cutting-edge research.

 

 

Throughout March 2026, the university is hosting fifth-year medical students from two prestigious Japanese institutions for intensive clinical electives:

Aichi Medical University: Four students—Miss Kanon Okada, Mr. Takasuke Ojio, Miss Yuri Iwashita, and Mr. Satoru Imai—are rotating through critical departments including Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Orthopedics, and Obstetrics and Gynecology.

 

 

Gifu University: Mr. Hiroto Okuda has joined the program to gain specialized experience in Hepatobiliary Surgery, focusing on liver and bile duct procedures, as well as Pediatrics.

The collaboration extends beyond clinical practice into laboratory science. Miss Anna Gabriela Howes, a Master’s student in Biomedical Sciences from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, is conducting a short-term research internship at the Department of Tropical Medicine.

Her research focuses on the carcinogenic liver fluke (Opisthorchis viverrini), a major public health concern in Southeast Asia and a primary cause of bile duct cancer (cholangiocarcinoma). This study aims to identify protein targets for future drug and vaccine development.

By serving as a regional Medical Hub, Khon Kaen University is fostering an environment where international skills and cultural exchange meet. This program is designed not only to sharpen medical expertise but also to cultivate a global mindset among the next generation of healthcare professionals.

คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ตอกย้ำความเป็นเลิศด้านการแพทย์และงานวิจัยระดับนานาชาติ เดินหน้าขับเคลื่อนยุทธศาสตร์ Internationalization Transformation เปิดบ้านต้อนรับคณะนักศึกษาแพทย์จากสถาบันชั้นนำในประเทศญี่ปุ่น และนักศึกษาปริญญาโทจากเนเธอร์แลนด์ เข้าศึกษาดูงานทางคลินิกและร่วมวิจัยแก้ปัญหาสุขภาพระดับภูมิภาคระหว่างวันที่ 3 – 27 มีนาคม 2569

คณะแพทยศาสตร์ได้จัดโปรแกรมการศึกษาดูงานแลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์ทางคลินิก (Clinical Elective) ให้กับนักศึกษาแพทย์ชั้นปีที่ 5 จาก 2 มหาวิทยาลัยชื่อดังของญี่ปุ่น ได้แก่:

Aichi Medical University: ส่งนักศึกษาแพทย์ 4 ราย เข้าศึกษาในสาขาวิชาที่สำคัญ ประกอบด้วย สาขาวิชาเวชศาสตร์ฉุกเฉิน (Miss Kanon Okada, Mr. Takasuke Ojio, Miss Yuri Iwashita, Mr. Satoru Imai), สาขาวิชาศัลยศาสตร์ (Miss Yuri Iwashita, Mr. Satoru Imai), สาขาวิชาออร์โธปิดิกส์ (Mr. Takasuke Ojio) และ สาขาวิชาสูติศาสตร์และนรีเวชวิทยา (Miss Kanon Okada)

Gifu University: ต้อนรับ Mr. Hiroto Okuda เข้าศึกษาดูงานใน สาขาวิชาศัลยศาสตร์ โดยเน้นด้านการผ่าตัดตับและทางเดินน้ำดี (Hepatobiliary Surgery) และ สาขาวิชากุมารเวชศาสตร์

นอกจากด้านคลินิกแล้ว คณะฯ ยังได้รับความสนใจจากนักวิจัยรุ่นใหม่ โดย Miss Anna Gabriela Howes นักศึกษาปริญญาโทสาขาชีวเวชศาสตร์ จาก Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam ประเทศเนเธอร์แลนด์ ได้เดินทางมาทำวิจัยระยะสั้น ณ สาขาวิชาเวชศาสตร์เขตร้อน ในหัวข้อการศึกษาเอนไซม์ของพยาธิใบไม้ตับ ซึ่งเป็นสาเหตุสำคัญของโรคมะเร็งท่อน้ำดี (CCA) เพื่อค้นหาโปรตีนเป้าหมายในการพัฒนาเป็นยาหรือวัคซีนในอนาคต

การต้อนรับนักศึกษาและนักวิจัยจากนานาชาติในครั้งนี้ ไม่เพียงแต่เป็นการแลกเปลี่ยนทักษะทางการแพทย์ที่เข้มข้นเท่านั้น แต่ยังเป็นโอกาสสำคัญในการแลกเปลี่ยนเชิงวัฒนธรรมและสร้างทัศนคติการทำงานในระดับสากล สอดคล้องกับพันธกิจของคณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ที่มุ่งมั่นจะเป็นศูนย์กลางทางการแพทย์ (Medical Hub) ระดับภูมิภาค และพื้นที่แห่งการเรียนรู้ระดับโลกเพื่อบ่มเพาะบุคลากรทางการแพทย์ให้พร้อมรับมือกับความท้าทายในอนาคตอย่างยั่งยืน

 

Thailand’s Medical Hub: Global Future Doctors Gain Crucial Insights at Khon Kaen University

 

In a significant move toward cementing its status as a premier regional “Medical Hub,” the Faculty of Medicine at Khon Kaen University (KKU) has recently welcomed a cohort of international medical students and residents from Japan and Bangladesh. The clinical elective program, hosted at Srinagarind Hospital, offered these young professionals a front-row seat to Thailand’s world-class emergency medicine and surgical trauma systems.

 

 

The delegation included participants from prestigious institutions, notably Gifu University and Wakayama Medical University in Japan, alongside Satkhira Medical College in Bangladesh.

One of the program’s highlights was the observation of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Triage systems. Miss Ishihara Kaede, a fifth-year medical student from Gifu University, expressed profound admiration for the rapid decision-making skills and adaptability of the Thai medical teams. Despite differences in resource allocation compared to Japan, she noted that the “teamwork” and “care from the heart” exhibited by KKU staff serve as a global benchmark for patient management.

Residents from Wakayama Medical University, Dr. Haruki Noda and Dr. Tsubasa Yukioka, delved into advanced trauma surgery and emergency protocols. Srinagarind Hospital, the largest tertiary referral center in Northeast Thailand, provided them with exposure to high-efficiency emergency tools, such as Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) and sophisticated surgical interventions for severe trauma cases.

Furthermore, Mr. Md Washikur Rahman Shihab from Bangladesh undertook intensive training in the Cardiothoracic Surgery unit. He highlighted that the standards within Thailand’s Intensive Care Units (ICU) and the precision of surgical techniques are on par with global leaders, offering him rare insights to take back to his home country.

This exchange program represents more than just professional skill-building; it is a catalyst for cross-border collaboration and lasting international networks. By opening its doors to the world, Khon Kaen University is not only sharing its medical expertise but also fostering “medicine without borders”.

Thailand’s emergence as a “Global Destination” for medical education is driven by this very mix of high-tech innovation and community-based resilience—a combination that continues to draw future healthcare leaders from across the globe.

คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น (มข.) ยกระดับความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศ ต้อนรับนักศึกษาแพทย์และแพทย์ประจำบ้านจากประเทศญี่ปุ่นและบังกลาเทศ เข้าศึกษาดูงานแลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์ทางคลินิก (Clinical Elective) ณ โรงพยาบาลศรีนครินทร์ ชูความโดดเด่นระบบกู้ชีพและศัลยกรรมอุบัติเหตุที่เป็นเลิศในระดับสากล

คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น เดินหน้าตอกย้ำภารกิจการเป็นศูนย์กลางทางการแพทย์ (Medical Hub) ในระดับภูมิภาคอย่างต่อเนื่อง ล่าสุดได้เปิดบ้านต้อนรับคณะผู้ศึกษาดูงานประกอบด้วยนักศึกษาแพทย์และแพทย์เฉพาะทางจากสถาบันชั้นนำ ได้แก่ Gifu University และ Wakayama Medical University ประเทศญี่ปุ่น พร้อมด้วย Satkhira Medical College จากสาธารณรัฐประชาชนบังกลาเทศ เข้าศึกษาดูงาน

ในการศึกษาดูงานครั้งนี้ Miss Ishihara Kaede นักศึกษาแพทย์ชั้นปีที่ 5 จาก Gifu University ได้เข้าเจาะลึกการทำงานของหน่วยกู้ชีพ (EMS) และระบบการคัดแยกผู้ป่วย (Triage) ซึ่งเธอได้แสดงความชื่นชมในความรวดเร็วของการตัดสินใจและความยืดหยุ่นของทีมแพทย์ไทย แม้จะมีข้อจำกัดด้านทรัพยากรที่แตกต่างจากญี่ปุ่น แต่ “ทีมเวิร์ก” และ “การดูแลด้วยหัวใจ” ของบุคลากร มข. คือสิ่งที่เธอจะนำไปเป็นต้นแบบในการทำงานต่อไป

ทางด้าน Dr. Haruki Noda และ Dr. Tsubasa Yukioka แพทย์ประจำบ้านจาก Wakayama Medical University ได้เข้าศึกษาดูงานด้านเวชศาสตร์ฉุกเฉินและการจัดการผู้ป่วยอุบัติเหตุรุนแรง (Trauma Surgery) โดยระบุว่าโรงพยาบาลศรีนครินทร์เป็นศูนย์ส่งต่อผู้ป่วยวิกฤตที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในภาคอีสาน ทำให้ได้เห็นเทคนิคการรักษาและการใช้เครื่องมือทันสมัย อาทิ เครื่องอัลตราซาวนด์พกพา (POCUS) ในภาวะฉุกเฉินที่มีประสิทธิภาพสูง

นอกจากนี้ Mr. Md Washikur Rahman Shihab นักศึกษาแพทย์จากบังกลาเทศ ยังได้เข้ารับการฝึกทักษะขั้นสูงในหน่วยศัลยศาสตร์หัวใจและทรวงอก โดยให้ทัศนะว่ามาตรฐานการรักษาและการจัดการผู้ป่วยในหอผู้ป่วยวิกฤต (ICU) ของไทยมีความก้าวหน้าทัดเทียมระดับโลก ซึ่งเป็นประสบการณ์ที่หาได้ยากและพร้อมจะนำความรู้ดังกล่าวไปต่อยอดพัฒนาวงการแพทย์ในประเทศบ้านเกิด

สร้างเครือข่ายความร่วมมือที่ยั่งยืน โครงการแลกเปลี่ยนในครั้งนี้ไม่เพียงแต่เป็นการพัฒนาทักษะทางวิชาชีพเท่านั้น แต่ยังเป็นการสร้างมิตรภาพข้ามวัฒนธรรมและการสื่อสารไร้พรมแดน ตอกย้ำภาพลักษณ์ของประเทศไทยในฐานะ “Global Destination” สำหรับการศึกษาทางการแพทย์ที่ได้รับความเชื่อมั่นจากนานาประเทศ อันจะนำไปสู่ความร่วมมือด้านสาธารณสุขที่ยั่งยืนในอนาคต

 

 

タイの医療ハブ、コンケン大学が日本人研修医らを受け入れ　救急・外傷外科の最前線を視察

タイ東北部の医療の要であるコンケン大学医学部は、国際的な「メディカルハブ」としての機能を強化するため、日本とバングラデシュから医学部生および研修医を受け入れました。スリナカリン病院での臨床実習（Clinical Elective）を通じ、参加者はタイが世界に誇る救急医療と外傷外科のシステムを学びました 。

今回の研修には、日本の岐阜大学、和歌山県立医科大学、そしてバングラデシュのサトキラ医療大学から将来の医療を担う若手医師らが参加しました。

研修のハイライトの一つは、救急医療サービス（EMS）とトリアージ（緊急度判定）の視察でした。岐阜大学医学部5年生の石原楓さんは、タイの医療チームの迅速な意思決定と柔軟性に深い感銘を受けたと述べています。日本とは医療資源の状況が異なるものの、コンケン大学スタッフの「チームワーク」と「心を込めたケア（Care from the heart）」は、患者管理における世界的なモデルケースであると評価しました。

和歌山県立医科大学の研修医、野田春樹医師と行岡翼医師は、救急医学と重症外傷外科のプロトコルを深く掘り下げて学びました 。タイ東北部最大の三次救急センターであるスリナカリン病院にて、ポータブル超音波診断装置（POCUS）などの高度な機器を用いた迅速な処置や、複雑な外傷症例に対する外科的介入を視察しました。

また、バングラデシュから参加したシハブさんは、心臓血管胸部外科ユニットにて集中的なトレーニングを受けました。タイの集中治療室（ICU）の管理基準や手術手技の精度は世界トップレベルにあり、母国に持ち帰るべき貴重な知見を得られたと語りました。

この交換プログラムは、単なる技術習得の場にとどまらず、国境を越えた「国境なき医療」のネットワークを構築する重要な機会となっています。コンケン大学医学部は、高度な技術革新と地域に根ざした強靭な医療体制を融合させることで、世界中から次世代の医療リーダーを惹きつける「グローバルな教育拠点」としての地位を確立し続けています。

 

 

KKU Welcomes the German Ambassador to Strengthen Thai-German Academic Collaboration

 

On Tuesday, 24 February 2026, the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University had the honor of welcoming H.E. Dr. Ernst Reichel, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Thailand, on the occasion of his visit to participate in an academic collaboration meeting at Sarasin Meeting Room, Khon Kaen University. The meeting aimed to promote bilateral relations and further develop collaborative networks between Thailand and the Federal Republic of Germany.

 

 

On this occasion, Associate Professor Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University, presided over the meeting. Moreover, Associate Professor Thuss Sanguansak, Vice Dean for International Relations and Corporate Communication, represented the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, in welcoming the Ambassador and engaging in discussions on key areas of cooperation.

 

 

The discussion focused on advancing collaboration aligned with the missions of the Faculty of Medicine, including education, the establishment of joint research networks with leading German institutions, and the exchange of medical students and personnel. It also emphasized support for the development of medical knowledge and innovations that address health challenges at both regional and global levels.

The Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University places great importance on international collaboration as a key mechanism for elevating the quality of education and research to international standards. The faculty firmly believes that this meeting will mark the beginning of concrete and sustainable cooperation, generating mutual benefits and further strengthening the faculty’s presence on the international stage.

เมื่อวันอังคารที่ 24 กุมภาพันธ์ 2569 คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ให้การต้อนรับ H.E. Dr. Ernst Reichel เอกอัครราชทูตสหพันธ์สาธารณรัฐเยอรมนีประจำราชอาณาจักรไทย ในโอกาสเข้าร่วมประชุมหารือความร่วมมือทางวิชาการ ณ ห้องประชุมสารสิน มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น เพื่อส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์และพัฒนาเครือข่ายความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศไทยและสหพันธ์สาธารณรัฐเยอรมนี

ในโอกาสนี้ รองศาสตราจารย์ชาญชัย พานทองวิริยะกุล อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ให้เกียรติเป็นประธานในพิธี พร้อมด้วย รองศาสตราจารย์ธรรศ สงวนศักดิ์ รองคณบดีฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์และสื่อสารองค์กร ซึ่งเป็นตัวแทนจากคณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ร่วมให้การต้อนรับและหารือแนวทางความร่วมมือในประเด็นสำคัญต่าง ๆ

コンケン大学医学部、ドイツ連邦共和国大使を迎え、日独学術協力の強化を推進

2026年2月24日（火）、コンケン大学医学部は、ドイツ連邦共和国駐タイ王国特命全権大使であるErnst Reichel博士閣下をお迎えし、コンケン大学サラシン会議室にて開催された学術協力に関する会議にご出席いただきました。本会議は、タイ王国とドイツ連邦共和国の二国間関係の促進および協力ネットワークのさらなる発展を目的として開催されたものです。

本会議では、コンケン大学学長であるCharnchai Panthongviriyakul准教授が議長を務めました。また、コンケン大学医学部を代表し、国際関係・コーポレートコミュニケーション担当副学部長であるThuss Sanguansak准教授が大使を歓迎し、今後の協力分野について意見交換を行いました。

協議では、医学部の使命に基づいた協力の推進について重点的に議論が行われました。具体的には、教育分野における連携、ドイツの主要機関との共同研究ネットワークの構築、医学生および医療専門職員の交流などが含まれます。また、地域および世界規模の健康課題に対応するための医学知識および医療イノベーションの発展への支援の重要性についても強調されました。

コンケン大学医学部は、教育および研究の質を国際水準へと向上させるための重要な推進力として、国際協力を極めて重視しています。本会議は、具体的かつ持続可能な協力関係の新たな出発点となり、双方にとって有益な成果をもたらすとともに、国際舞台における医学部の存在感をさらに強化するものと期待されています。

KKU Faculty of Medicine Professor Serves as DrPH Examiner for Universiti Malaya Doctoral Candidate

 

The Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, proudly highlights its continued engagement in international academic collaboration through the participation of Professor Naesinee Chaiear, Department of Community, Family and Occupational Medicine, who was invited to serve as an External Examiner in the Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) viva voce of Dr. Lim Say Hiang at Universiti Malaya, Malaysia, where Dr. Lim successfully completed her Doctor of Public Health degree with a thesis entitled “Prevalence, Factors and Effect of Long COVID on Work Productivity Among Healthcare Workers at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre.”

The viva voce was conducted under the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya and involved academic leaders and examiners from multiple institutions, reflecting strong regional collaboration in postgraduate medical education.

Professor Naesinee Chaiear’s role as External Examiner underscores the recognition of the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, as a respected academic partner in international doctoral evaluation. Her participation reflects the Faculty’s expertise in community and occupational medicine and its commitment to upholding high standards of academic quality and scholarly excellence.

Through active involvement in international doctoral examinations, the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, continues to strengthen its global academic engagement, promote cross-border knowledge exchange, and contribute to the advancement of public health scholarship in the region.
