The Faculty of Medicine at Khon Kaen University (MDKKU) bolstersits regional medical excellence by launching “i-Move”, an intelligent patient transport management application. This innovation integrates digital technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhancepatient care efficiency, aligning with the MDKKU’s goal of becoming a world-class medical school (Go International).

Assoc. Prof. Pattarapong Makarawate, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, revealed that the heart of driving MDKKU towardbecome a Smart Hospital is fast, safe, and effective treatment. The i-Move system transforms manual workflows into fully digital processes. A collaboration between the Faculties of Medicine and Engineering this practical tool optimizes seamless coordination between nursing teams and patient transport staff, reduces errors, and elevates healthcare standards to an international level.

Prof. Somsak Tiamkao, Director of Srinagarind Hospital, added that patient transport waiting times have been reduced by one-third. In medical practice, where “every minute matters,” this is a life-changing innovation (Impact on Healthcare). The system utilizes Wi-Fi tracking to assign tasks and locate the nearest staff, ensuring faster patient flow to operating rooms, emergency units, and inpatient wards. This achievement demonstrates the successful application of research to solve real-world challenges in a complex tertiary care hospital.

The development of i-Move reflects MDKKU’s commitment to advancing technology for humanity, reinforcing its vision of becoming a globally trusted medical institution.

รศ.นพ.ภัทรพงษ์ มกรเวส คณบดีคณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น เปิดเผยว่า หัวใจสำคัญของการขับเคลื่อนคณะแพทยศาสตร์สู่การเป็น Smart Hospital คือการทำให้ผู้ป่วยได้รับการรักษาที่รวดเร็วและปลอดภัยที่สุด ระบบ “i-Move” จึงถูกพัฒนาขึ้นเพื่อเปลี่ยนผ่านกระบวนการทำงานจากระบบเดิมสู่ระบบดิจิทัลอย่างสมบูรณ์แบบ โดยคณะแพทยศาสตร์ได้จับมือกับคณะวิศวกรรมศาสตร์เพื่อสร้างเครื่องมือที่ตอบโจทย์คนทำงานจริง ช่วยให้ทีมพยาบาลและเจ้าหน้าที่เวรเปลประสานงานกันได้อย่างไร้รอยต่อ ลดความคลาดเคลื่อนในการสื่อสาร และยกระดับมาตรฐานการบริการสุขภาพสู่สากล

ด้าน ศ.นพ.สมศักดิ์ เทียมเก่า ผู้อำนวยการโรงพยาบาลศรีนครินทร์ ระบุว่า หลังจากนำระบบ i-Move มาใช้งานจริง พบว่าสามารถ ลดระยะเวลาการรอคอยเคลื่อนย้ายผู้ป่วยลงได้ถึง 1 ใน 3 ซึ่งในทางการแพทย์ ถือเป็นนวัตกรรมที่เปลี่ยนชีวิตผู้ป่วย (Impact on Healthcare) ซึ่ง “เวลาทุกนาทีมีค่าต่อชีวิต” การที่ระบบสามารถจัดคิวและระบุพิกัดเจ้าหน้าที่ที่ใกล้ที่สุดผ่าน Wi-Fi Tracking ทำให้การไหลเวียนของผู้ป่วย (Patient Flow) ไปยังห้องผ่าตัด ห้องฉุกเฉิน หรือหอผู้ป่วย มีความรวดเร็วและแม่นยำสูงสุด ถือเป็นความสำเร็จในการนำงานวิจัยมาใช้แก้ปัญหาจริงในโรงพยาบาลระดับตติยภูมิที่มีความซับซ้อนสูง

孔敬大学医学院推出 “i-Move” 智能病患转运系统 迈向智慧医院

孔敬大学医学院进一步巩固其在区域医疗领域的领先地位，正式推出 “i-Move” 应用程序。这是一套融合数字技术与人工智能（AI）的智能病患转运管理系统，旨在优化医疗流程、提升护理效率，并助力实现“打造国际一流医学院”的发展目标。

孔敬大学医学院院长、副教授兼医学博士 Phattarapong Makarawat表示，推动医学院迈向智慧医院（Smart Hospital）的关键，在于确保病患能够获得及时且安全的治疗。i-Move 的开发，正是为了实现从传统作业模式向全面数字化转型。该系统由医学院与工程学院紧密合作，共同出符合临床实际需求的工具，显著促进了促进护理人员与转运团队之间的高效协同，减少沟通误差，全面提升医疗服务质量至国际标准。

Srinagarind 医院院长、教授兼医学博士 Somsak Tiamkao 指出，系统投入使用后，已成功将病患转运等待时间缩短约三分之一，在“时间就是生命”的医疗救援中，这一突破意义重大。他强调，i-Move 系统具备自动排程功能，并结合 Wi-Fi 定位技术，能够快速匹配距离最近的工作人员，使病患在手术室、急诊室与病房之间的转运更加高效精准。这一成果展现了科研创新在复杂三级医疗体系中成功转化为实际应用的典范。

The Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University (MDKKU), continues to reinforce its leadership in medical education in the ASEAN region by hosting an academic exchange program for students from partner institutions in Japan and Indonesia. The initiative emphasizes clinical experience sharing and the development of international medical collaboration networks.

On April 7, 2025, MDKKU welcomed seven medical students from partner institutions in Japan and Indonesia. The participants include Mr. Rintaro Tanaka and Mr. Shota Imaichi from Mie University; Miss Karen Kobayashi from University of Tsukuba Hospital; Mr. Raito Sugiura and Mr. Akinari Watabe from Fujita Health University; and Miss Elisa Rezkita Sitorus and Mr. Kevin Joshua P. Hutapea from Universitas Gadjah Mada.

During the visit, the students will gain hands-on experience in various specialized departments, including Surgery, Orthopedics, Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics, Forensic Medicine, and Anesthesiology. This experience will allow them to learn diverse treatment approaches and work closely with expert medical faculty members.

In addition to hospital clinical rotations, the International Relations Office has organized a comprehensive orientation program. The program includes basic Thai language guidance for daily communication, as well as campus tours showcasing KKU’s innovations. These include the KKU Smart Transit system (shuttle bus), visits to the Arts and Culture Center and the Natural History Museum to learn about Isan culture, and access to the University Library and FITNESS KKU center to promote wellness throughout the exchange period.

This exchange program serves as a key driving force in advancing the “Go International” strategy of the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University (MDKKU). It aims to foster knowledge exchange beyond textbooks and build meaningful friendships among medical students across borders. In the future, this initiative is expected to lead to sustainable medical cooperation among partner institutions worldwide.

คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น เดินหน้าตอกย้ำความเป็นผู้นำด้านแพทยศาสตรศึกษาในภูมิภาคอาเซียน จัดกิจกรรมต้อนรับนักศึกษาแลกเปลี่ยนจากสถาบันชั้นนำในประเทศญี่ปุ่นและอินโดนีเซีย เข้kศึกษาดูงาน (Elective Program) มุ่งเน้นการแลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์การรักษา และสร้างเครือข่ายความร่วมมือทางการแพทย์ในระดับสากล

孔敬大学医学院继续巩固其在东盟地区医学教育领域的领先地位，举办欢迎活动，迎接来自日本和印度尼西亚合作院校的交换生，来校参加临床选修项目（Elective Program）。该项目注重医疗经验交流，并致力于建立国际医学合作网络。

2026年4月7日，孔敬大学医学院热烈欢迎7名来自合作院校的医学生。他们分别是来自日本三重大学（Mie University）的Rintaro Tanaka先生和Shota Imaichi先生，来自日本筑波大学附属医院（University of Tsukuba Hospital）的Karen Kobayashi女士，来自日本藤田医科大学（Fujita Health University）的Raito Sugiura先生和Akinari Watabe先生，以及来自印度尼西亚加查马达大学（Universitas Gadjah Mada）的Elisa Rezkita Sitorus女士和Kevin Joshua P. Hutapea先生。

此次来访期间，学生将有机会在外科、骨科、急诊医学、儿科、法医学和麻醉学等多个专业科室获得实践经验。这将帮助他们学习处理多样化病例的治疗方法，并与专业医师和教师密切合作。

Dr. Krit Wongwises, a fourth-year orthopedic resident at Khon Kaen University, participated in a four-week academic exchange program at the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Nagoya City University, Japan, from November 1 to 30, 2025.

The program was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Hideki Murakami, MD, PhD, Head of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery. During the exchange, Dr. Krit Wongwises gained valuable experience in advanced surgical techniques, modern orthopedic clinical practice management, and multidisciplinary collaboration within a leading Japanese medical institution.

This academic exchange aimed to provide exposure to real-world clinical treatment experiences and to facilitate professional exchange with faculty members and staff of the department. The experience is expected to contribute to the advancement of medical education, the improvement of healthcare service quality, and the overall development of the field of orthopedics.

นายแพทย์กฤช วงศ์วิเศษ สาขาวิชาออร์โธปิดิกส์ คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ได้เข้าร่วมโครงการแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้ทางวิชาการ ณ Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Nagoya City University ประเทศญี่ปุ่น ระหว่างวันที่ 1-30 พฤศจิกายน 2568 รวมระยะเวลา 4 สัปดาห์

การเข้าร่วมโครงการในครั้งนี้อยู่ภายใต้การดูแลของ Prof. Hideki Murakami, MD, PhD ซึ่งเป็นหัวหน้าภาควิชาออร์โธปิดิกส์ โดยตลอดระยะเวลาโครงการ นายแพทย์ กฤชได้เรียนรู้เทคนิคการผ่าตัดขั้นสูง ขั้นตอนการทำงานและการทำงานร่วมกันแบบสหสาขาวิชาชีพ รวมถึงได้ทำความเข้าใจอย่างลึกซึ้งทั้งในด้านการจัดการของการปฏิบัติในด้านออร์โธปิดิกส์สมัยใหม่

孔敬大学医学院骨科住院医师 Dr. Krit Wongwises，于2025年11月1日至30日期间，赴日本名古屋市立大学（Nagoya City University）骨科开展了为期四周的学术交流项目。

此次交流由日本名古屋市立大学骨科知名专家 Hideki Murakami 教授指导。

在交流期间，Krit 医生深入学习了先进的手术技术、现代骨科临床实践管理，以及日本领先医疗机构内的多学科协作模式。

此次学术交流旨在学习真实世界的临床治疗经验，并与科室教职员工进行专业交流，以进一步加强孔敬大学医学院与名古屋市立大学之间的学术合作。

该项目预计将有助于未来提升教学质量、医疗服务水平以及骨科领域的整体发展水平。

Students from the Medical Illustration program, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University—Miss Benjamas Mumsuk, Miss Uraiwan Kongtako, Miss Pokkaeo Youngphet, Miss Pantaree Wananit, and Miss Warattaya Thangyotwilai—participated in a cooperative education program at National Pingtung University in the Republic of China (Taiwan) from 23 November 2025 to 14 March 2026.

The program was partially supported by the International Relations Office under the “Let’s Go Exchange” initiative, offering valuable international academic and hands-on experience.

The Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University (MDKKU), is advancing its international research collaboration in cardiovascular sciences through an academic exchange with the University of Porto under the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching program.

As part of the program, Prof. Inês Falcão-Pires, a leading expert in cardiovascular physiology from the Cardiovascular Research and Development Centre, Department of Surgery and Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto, visited MDKKU from March 30 to April 3, 2026.

Prof. Falcão-Pires is internationally recognized for her work in cardiac remodeling, reverse remodeling, heart failure, and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), an increasingly important and complex condition in contemporary cardiovascular medicine.

The visit reflects MDKKU’s continued effort to strengthen global research partnerships and expand collaboration in areas aligned with Thailand’s evolving health priorities.

The exchange was coordinated by Prof. Poungrat Pakdeechote, Head of the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, with the aim of fostering sustained academic and research collaboration between the two institutions.

During her visit, Prof. Falcão-Pires delivered two invited lectures to medical students, residents, researchers, and faculty members:

• Cardiac Reverse Remodeling: Mechanisms and Clinical Implications; Animal and Human Models of Cardiovascular Disease
• In Vitro and In Vivo Evaluation of Cardiac Function; HFpEF

The lectures highlighted current advances in cardiovascular pathophysiology, experimental and clinical models of disease, and contemporary approaches to cardiac function assessment.

On April 1, 2026, Prof. Falcão-Pires, Prof. Poungrat Pakdeechote, and faculty members from the Department of Physiology met with Assoc. Prof. Pattarapong Makarawate, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, to discuss future collaboration in cardiovascular sciences.

The discussion emphasized the development of translational research that bridges laboratory findings and clinical application, with the aim of generating research outcomes that directly address national health priorities.

A key area of shared interest was Rheumatic Heart Disease, which remains a significant public health concern in Thailand and other low- and middle-income settings. Although its incidence has declined in many high-income countries, the disease continues to affect vulnerable populations and presents important opportunities for future collaboration in integrating basic science, clinical research, and locally relevant health data to improve prevention, diagnosis, and treatment strategies.

The visit also initiated discussions on joint research initiatives, faculty exchange, researcher mobility, and academic knowledge-sharing, reinforcing MDKKU’s commitment to building sustainable international partnerships and advancing research with meaningful clinical and public health impact.

คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น เดินเกมรุกเชื่อมเครือข่ายวิจัยโรคหัวใจระดับนานาชาติ ต้อนรับ Prof. Inês Falcão-Pires, Ph.D. ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านสรีรวิทยาของระบบหัวใจและหลอดเลือดจาก Cardiovascular Research and Development Centre, Department of Surgery and Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto ประเทศโปรตุเกส ซึ่งเดินทางมาเยือนคณะระหว่างวันที่ 30 มีนาคม – 3 เมษายน 2569 ภายใต้โครงการ Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching

โดย Prof. Inês Falcão-Pires ถือเป็นหนึ่งในนักวิจัยที่มีบทบาทโดดเด่นในวงการวิจัยโรคหัวใจของยุโรป โดยมีความเชี่ยวชาญในด้าน cardiac remodeling, reverse remodeling, heart failure และ HFpEF หรือภาวะหัวใจล้มเหลวชนิดที่หัวใจยังคงบีบตัวได้แต่ทำงานผิดปกติ ซึ่งเป็นหนึ่งในโจทย์วิจัยสำคัญของวงการโรคหัวใจทั่วโลก อีกทั้งยังมีผลงานวิชาการตีพิมพ์ในวารสารนานาชาติด้านโรคหัวใจอย่างต่อเนื่อง และมีบทบาทในเครือข่ายวิจัยหัวใจของยุโรปอย่างชัดเจน

การเยือนครั้งนี้มีเป้าหมายการเปิดประตูสู่ความร่วมมือด้าน Cardiovascular Sciences ระหว่าง คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น กับ University of Porto มหาวิทยาลัยชั้นนำของโปรตุเกสที่มีความโดดเด่นด้านการวิจัยและนวัตกรรมมากที่สุดแห่งหนึ่ง โดยมี ศาสตราจารย์พวงรัตน์ ภักดีโชติ หัวหน้าสาขาวิชาสรีรวิทยา คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น เป็นผู้ประสานความร่วมมือหลัก

ตลอดช่วงการเยือน Prof. Inês Falcão-Pires ได้บรรยายพิเศษ 2 หัวข้อสำคัญได้แก่ “Cardiac Reverse Remodeling: Mechanisms and Clinical Implications; Animal and Human Models of Cardiovascular Disease” และ“In Vitro and In Vivo Evaluation of Cardiac Function; HFpEF”  แก่ นักศึกษา แพทย์ประจำบ้าน นักวิจัย และคณาจารย์ของคณะแพทยศาสตร์ โดยเน้นองค์ความรู้ด้าน กลไกโรคหัวใจ การประเมินสมรรถนะการทำงานของหัวใจ และโจทย์วิจัยสำคัญในโรคหัวใจล้มเหลว

อีกหนึ่งประเด็นสำคัญของการเยือนครั้งนี้เกิดขึ้นเมื่อวันที่ 1 เมษายน 2569 เมื่อ Prof. Inês Falcão-Pires พร้อมด้วย ศาสตราจารย์พวงรัตน์ ภักดีโชติ และคณาจารย์จากสาขาวิชาสรีรวิทยา เข้าพบ รองศาสตราจารย์ ภัทรพงษ์ มกรเวส คณบดีคณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น เพื่อหารือแนวทางพัฒนาความร่วมมือด้าน Cardiovascular Sciences ระหว่างคณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น และ University of Porto

ด้วยบทบาทของ รองศาสตราจารย์ ภัทรพงษ์ มกรเวส ในฐานะแพทย์ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านหัวใจและหลอดเลือด การหารือจึงลงลึกถึงแนวทางพัฒนา Translational Research หรือการวิจัยที่เชื่อมจากห้องแล็บสู่การใช้จริงในผู้ป่วย โดยมุ่งสร้างองค์ความรู้ที่ตอบโจทย์ปัญหาสุขภาพของประเทศอย่างแท้จริง

หนึ่งในประเด็นที่ได้รับความสนใจเป็นพิเศษ คือแนวทางการพัฒนางานวิจัยเกี่ยวกับ โรคหัวใจรูมาติก (Rheumatic Heart Disease) ซึ่งยังคงเป็นปัญหาสาธารณสุขที่พบได้ในประเทศไทย และส่งผลกระทบต่อผู้ป่วยในหลายพื้นที่ โดยเฉพาะในกลุ่มประชากรเปราะบาง  โดยทั้งสองฝ่ายเห็นพ้องศักยภาพของความร่วมมือครั้งนี้ในการต่อยอดสู่การสร้างองค์ความรู้ งานวิจัย และแนวทางดูแลรักษาที่ตอบโจทย์บริบทสุขภาพของไทยได้อย่างเป็นรูปธรรม

นอกจากนี้ ยังมีการหารือถึงแนวทางการแลกเปลี่ยนบุคลากร นักวิจัย และองค์ความรู้ระหว่างสถาบัน เพื่อสนับสนุนการพัฒนาศักยภาพด้านการวิจัยและการเรียนการสอนในระยะยาว อันจะนำไปสู่การสร้างเครือข่ายความร่วมมือทางวิชาการที่เข้มแข็งและยั่งยืนยิ่งขึ้น ความร่วมมือครั้งนี้จึงนับเป็นอีกก้าวสำคัญของคณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ในการต่อยอดความร่วมมือทางวิชาการระดับนานาชาติ และขับเคลื่อนงานวิจัยด้านโรคหัวใจและหลอดเลือดให้เชื่อมโยงกับโจทย์สุขภาพสำคัญของประเทศไทยมากยิ่งขึ้น

孔敬大学医学院与波尔图大学的心血管研究人员合作，建立了一个全球研究网络，关注“风湿性心脏病”泰国的一个主要问题

            孔敬大学医学院积极与国际心血管研究网络建立关系，并迎来了来自葡萄牙波尔图大学医学院外科与生理学系心血管研究与发展中心的心血管与生理学专家 Inês Falcão-Pires 教授，博士学位。她于2026年3月30日至4月3日根据 Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching 工程访问了该学院。

Inês Falcão-Pires 教授被尊为欧洲心脏病研究领域最杰出的研究人员之一,专攻心脏重塑、逆向重塑、心力衰竭和射血分数保留心型心力衰竭、HFpEF,即心脏仍然能收缩但功能异常的心力衰竭，这是全球心脏病学界最重的研究课题之一。她在国际心脏病学期刊上发表了大量论文，并在欧洲心脏病研究网络中发挥着重要作用。

此次访问的目的是开启孔敬大学医学院与波尔图大学（一所因其杰出的研究和创新而闻名的葡萄牙鉴定大学）在心血管科学领域的合作之门。孔敬大学医学院生理学系主任 Poungrat Pakdeechote 教授是此次合作的主要协调人。

在 Inês Falcão-Pires 教授的访问过程中。就2个重要主题进行了特别讲座，即“心脏逆向重塑：机制和临床影响；心血管疾病的动物和人类模型”和“心脏功能的体外和体内评估；HFpEF”为医学院的学生、住院医师、研究人员和教师。通过专注于心脏机制的知识，对心脏功能的性能评估和心力衰竭的重要研究问题。

此次访问另一个重点发生在2026年4月1日, 当 Inês Falcão-Pires Ph.D 教授与 Poungrat Pakdeechote 教授以及生理学系的教师们会见了孔敬大学医学院院长 Pattarapong Makarawate 副教授，讨论了孔敬大学医学院与波尔图大学在心血管科学领域开展合作的方式。

鉴于 Pattarapong Makarawate 副教授是一位心血管专家，讨论深入探讨了转化研究的发展，即将实验室研究与现实世界的患者应用联系起来的研究，旨在创造真正解决国家健康问题的知识。

此次会谈重点关注的问题之一是风湿性心脏病的研究发展的方式。风湿性心脏病在泰国仍然是一个常见的公共卫生难题，影响着许多地区的患者，尤其是弱势群体。双方一致认为，此次合作有希望进一步发展相关知识、研究和治疗方法，从而切实解决泰国的医疗保健问题。

此外，双方还探讨了如何促进各机构间人员、研究人员和知识的交流，以支持研究和教学能力的长期发展。这将有助于构建更强大、更可持续的学术合作网络。此次合作标志着孔敬大学医学院在拓展国际学术合作、推动心血管病研究以更好地应对泰国主要健康问题方面又迈出了重要一步。

The Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, extends its congratulations to faculty members from the Biochemistry discipline on their appointment as Visiting Professors at Kumamoto University, Japan:

• Prof. Dr. Sopit Wongkham
• Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kulthida Vaeteewoottacharn

The appointment is effective from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2028.

In this role, they will contribute to international academic and research activities, including supervising students in the Double Degree Program, presenting research in the Graduate School of Medical Sciences seminar series, and conducting international collaborative research.

This appointment reflects the academic excellence of the faculty members and highlights the strong collaboration between Khon Kaen University and Kumamoto University in advancing medical science education and research at the international level.

ภายใต้บทบาทดังกล่าว คณาจารย์จะร่วมดำเนินงานด้านวิชาการและการวิจัยในระดับนานาชาติ อาทิ การกำกับดูแลนักศึกษาในหลักสูตร Double Degree Program การนำเสนอผลงานวิจัยในเวที Graduate School of Medical Sciences seminar series ตลอดจนการดำเนินงานวิจัยร่วมระดับนานาชาติ

การได้รับการแต่งตั้งในครั้งนี้สะท้อนถึงศักยภาพทางวิชาการของคณาจารย์ และความเข้มแข็งของความร่วมมือระหว่าง มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น และ Kumamoto University ในการพัฒนางานวิจัยและการศึกษาด้านวิทยาศาสตร์การแพทย์ในระดับสากล
