Associate Professor Artit Boonrod, MD, of the Department of Orthopaedics, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, visited the UPMC Freddie Fu Sports Medicine Center, University of Pittsburgh, USA, from August 3–5, 2026, under the ISAKOS Young Investigator Scholarship & Research Mentoring Program.
During the visit, Associate Professor Boonrod was hosted by Professor Volker Musahl, MD, Chief, Division of Sports Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. The academic program included participation in clinical conferences, observation of sports medicine outpatient clinics and surgical procedures, and discussions on current advances in orthopaedic sports medicine. He also visited UPMC research facilities to exchange knowledge and research experiences in both clinical and basic science.
The visit further strengthened academic collaboration between the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, and the University of Pittsburgh while promoting international knowledge exchange in orthopaedic sports medicine. The collaborative activities focused on knee surgery, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, and sports medicine research, providing valuable opportunities to advance research, medical education, and patient care at the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University.

คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มข. เสริมสร้างความร่วมมือด้านเวชศาสตร์การกีฬาและศัลยศาสตร์ออร์โธปิดิกส์กับ University of Pittsburgh
รองศาสตราจารย์อาทิตย์ บุญรอด อาจารย์ประจำสาขาวิชาออร์โธปิดิกส์ คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น เดินทางเยือน UPMC Freddie Fu Sports Medicine Center, University of Pittsburgh ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา ระหว่างวันที่ 3–5 สิงหาคม 2569 ภายใต้โครงการ ISAKOS Young Investigator Scholarship & Research Mentoring Program
ในการเยือนครั้งนี้ รองศาสตราจารย์อาทิตย์ได้รับการต้อนรับจาก Professor Volker Musahl หัวหน้าหน่วยเวชศาสตร์การกีฬา แห่ง University of Pittsburgh โดยได้เข้าร่วมการประชุมวิชาการทางคลินิก สังเกตการณ์การให้บริการตรวจรักษาผู้ป่วยและการผ่าตัดด้านเวชศาสตร์การกีฬา ตลอดจนแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับความก้าวหน้าทางวิชาการด้านศัลยศาสตร์ออร์โธปิดิกส์และเวชศาสตร์การกีฬา นอกจากนี้ ยังได้เยี่ยมชมศูนย์วิจัยของ UPMC เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้และประสบการณ์ด้านการวิจัย ทั้งในระดับคลินิกและวิทยาศาสตร์พื้นฐาน
การเยือนครั้งนี้ช่วยยกระดับความร่วมมือทางวิชาการระหว่างคณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น และ University of Pittsburgh พร้อมทั้งส่งเสริมการแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ด้านเวชศาสตร์การกีฬาในระดับนานาชาติ โดยมุ่งเน้นความร่วมมือด้านศัลยกรรมข้อเข่า การผ่าตัดสร้างเอ็นไขว้หน้า และการวิจัยด้านเวชศาสตร์การกีฬา ซึ่งจะเป็นประโยชน์ต่อการพัฒนางานวิจัย การจัดการเรียนการสอน และการดูแลรักษาผู้ป่วยของคณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ให้ก้าวหน้ายิ่งขึ้น
