On August 24, 2026, the Faculty of Medicine at Khon Kaen University (MDKKU) officially welcomed a delegation from Mie University, Japan. The delegation was warmly received by Associate Professor Dr. Daris Theerakulpisut, Assistant for International Relations and Corporate Communication, who served as the chair of the welcoming ceremony. The delegation is led by Assoc. Prof. Shigeyuki Yoshiyama from the Department of Gastrointestinal and Pediatric Surgery at Mie University Hospital, accompanied by medical students Mr. Kei Michihata (3rd-year medical student), Miss Yasuko Kato, and Miss Miyu Honda (2nd-year medical students).
During the event, Associate Professor Dr. Daris Theerakulpisut delivered welcome remarks, highlighting the robust and enduring academic partnership and ongoing medical education cooperation between MDKKU and Mie University. He also wished the delegation a wonderful and highly successful academic and cultural exchange program in Thailand and Khon Kaen, scheduled from August 22 to August 31, 2026.
Following the welcome session, Associate Professor Dr. Watcharin Loilome, Director of the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute (CARI), delivered a special lecture titled “Special oncology briefing: Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute (CARI)”. She presented in-depth insights into liver fluke-associated cholangiocarcinoma, early detection screening guidelines, and integrated oncology care frameworks, generating immense academic interest and value for the Japanese delegation.
Afterward, the delegation from Mie University visited and observed clinical operations at the Surgical Outpatient Department (Surgical OPD) of Srinagarind Hospital.
This welcoming event and knowledge exchange not only enrich the clinical and international research experiences of the medical students from Japan, but also strengthen ties between partner institutions, driving forward advanced academic and medical collaboration between MDKKU and Mie University toward a sustainable future.
MDKKU ต้อนรับคณะผู้แทนจาก Mie University ประเทศญี่ปุ่นอย่างอบอุ่น
เมื่อวันที่ 24 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2569 คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น (MDKKU) ได้จัดพิธีต้อนรับคณะผู้แทนจาก Mie University ประเทศญี่ปุ่น อย่างเป็นทางการ โดยมี รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ดริส ธีระกุลพิศุทธิ์ ผู้ช่วยคณบดีฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์และสื่อสารองค์กร เป็นประธานกล่าวต้อนรับคณะผู้แทน ซึ่งนำโดย Assoc. Prof. Shigeyuki Yoshiyama จาก Department of Gastrointestinal and Pediatric Surgery, Mie University Hospital พร้อมด้วยนักศึกษาแพทย์จาก Mie University ได้แก่ Mr. Kei Michihata (นักศึกษาแพทย์ชั้นปีที่ 3), Miss Yasuko Kato และ Miss Miyu Honda (นักศึกษาแพทย์ชั้นปีที่ 2)
ในโอกาสนี้ รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ดริส ธีระกุลพิศุทธิ์ ได้กล่าวต้อนรับและเน้นย้ำถึงความสัมพันธ์อันแน่นแฟ้นและยาวนานระหว่างคณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น และ Mie University ที่มีความร่วมมือทางวิชาการและการศึกษาแพทย์ร่วมกันมาอย่างต่อเนื่อง พร้อมทั้งอวยพรให้การเยือนประเทศไทยและจังหวัดขอนแก่นภายใต้โปรแกรมการแลกเปลี่ยนทั้งด้านวิชาการและวัฒนธรรมระหว่างวันที่ 22–31 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2569 นี้ เต็มไปด้วยความประทับใจและประสบความสำเร็จอย่างสูงสุด
ต่อมาได้มีการจัดบรรยายพิเศษ โดย รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.วัชรินทร์ ลอยลม ผู้อำนวยการสถาบันวิจัยมะเร็งท่อน้ำดี (CARI) ได้ให้เกียรติเป็นผู้บรรยายพิเศษในหัวข้อ “Special oncology briefing: Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute (CARI)” โดยนำเสนอองค์ความรู้เชิงลึกเกี่ยวกับโรคมะเร็งท่อน้ำดีที่เกี่ยวข้องกับพยาธิใบไม้ตับ แนวทางการคัดกรองและการตรวจพบโรคตั้งแต่ระยะเริ่มต้น รวมถึงกรอบการดูแลรักษาผู้ป่วยมะเร็งแบบบูรณาการ ซึ่งสร้างความสนใจและประโยชน์ทางวิชาการอย่างยิ่งแก่คณะผู้แทนจากประเทศญี่ปุ่น
หลังจากนั้น คณะผู้แทนจาก Mie University ได้เข้าเยี่ยมชมการดำเนินงานทางคลินิก ณ ห้องตรวจโรคผู้ป่วยนอกศัลยศาสตร์ (Surgical OPD) ของโรงพยาบาลศรีนครินทร์
การต้อนรับและการแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้ในครั้งนี้ ไม่เพียงแต่ช่วยเสริมสร้างประสบการณ์ทางคลินิกและงานวิจัยระดับสากลให้แก่นักศึกษาแพทย์จากประเทศญี่ปุ่นเท่านั้น แต่ยังเป็นการกระชับความสัมพันธ์อันดีระหว่างสถาบันพันธมิตร พร้อมทั้งขับเคลื่อนความร่วมมือทางวิชาการและการแพทย์ระหว่างคณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น และ Mie University ให้เจริญก้าวหน้าและยั่งยืนสืบไป
