Lao Consulate Celebrates New Medical Graduates from Khon Kaen University, Strengthening ASEAN Healthcare

In a heartwarming celebration of cross-border collaboration and academic achievement, the Lao Consulate-General in Khon Kaen hosted the “Graduation Celebration for Lao Students and Welcoming New Students” event, marking a milestone for medical graduates from Laos who have completed their studies at Khon Kaen University’s Faculty of Medicine.

The event, held amidst an atmosphere of pride and camaraderie, was graced by Mr. Somsak Vilaython, Lao Consul General, and Mr. Bounyang Phongsamai, Deputy Consul General. Representing Khon Kaen University, Assoc. MDKKU Physician Participates in Family Medicine Knowledge Exchange Program in University of Bergen

Dr. Nalatporn Moyardee, a resident from the Department of Community Medicine, Family Medicine, and Occupational Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University (MDKKU), participated in an academic knowledge exchange program in Family Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Bergen, Norway, from November 4 to 30, 2024, for a total of four weeks.

This exchange program focused on sharing experiences in patient care, improving community health systems, and adapting Family Medicine principles to diverse contexts. It also served as an excellent opportunity to strengthen academic collaboration between Khon Kaen University and the University of Bergen.

The program aims to enhance the standards of medical services and advance the capabilities of medical professionals on a global scale. Furthermore, it supports the progress of Family Medicine services and establishes international medical collaboration networks for the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University.

พญ. นลัทพร หมอยาดี แพทย์จากสาขาวิชาเวชศาสตร์ชุมชน เวชศาสตร์ครอบครัว และอาชีวเวชศาสตร์ คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ได้รับโอกาสเดินทางไปแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้ทางวิชาการด้านเวชศาสตร์ครอบครัว ณ Faculty of Medicine, University of Bergen, ประเทศนอร์เวย์ ระหว่างวันที่ 4-30 พฤศจิกายน 2567 รวมระยะเวลา 4 สัปดาห์

การเดินทางครั้งนี้เน้นการแลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์ด้านการดูแลผู้ป่วยแบบองค์รวม การพัฒนาระบบสุขภาพในชุมชน และการนำแนวคิดเวชศาสตร์ครอบครัวไปปรับใช้ในบริบทที่หลากหลาย โดยยังถือเป็นโอกาสสำคัญในการเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือทางวิชาการระหว่างมหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่นและมหาวิทยาลัยเบอร์เกน

MDKKU Joins Forces with Chang Gung University, Taiwan to Strengthen Academic Ties

On December 11, 2024, the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University (MDKKU) engaged in discussions with the College of Medicine at Chang Gung University, Taiwan, with the aim of strengthening academic cooperation and research collaboration, as well as exploring opportunities for student exchange programs at various levels. The delegation from MDKKU was led by Assoc. Prof. Warachaya Phanphruk, Assistant Dean for International Relations, MDKKU.

The discussions included the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), exploring the feasibility of establishing a medical student exchange program, and discussing potential exchanges for residents and postgraduate students. Additionally, both parties explored other areas for future collaboration, including research and academic initiatives. The talks were held with Prof. Thomas Lei, Dean of the Office of International Affairs, and Prof. Jim-Tong Horng, Associate Dean for International Affairs, College of Medicine at Chang Gung University.

Chang Gung University is renowned for its excellence in medical education and research, particularly in Taiwan and the broader Asia-Pacific region. The university is a leader in medical technology and healthcare innovation and plays a pivotal role in shaping medical education and research globally.

Following the discussions, the MDKKU delegation had the opportunity to visit the Center for Clinical Skills & Simulation, led by Assoc. Prof. Ming-Ju Hsieh, the center’s chair. The center is an integral part of the undergraduate medical curriculum and postgraduate training at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. It is equipped with advanced medical training tools and offers students opportunities to integrate medical knowledge with hands-on practice in simulated learning environments.

The Center for Clinical Skills & Simulation at Chang Gung University has become a cornerstone of the curriculum, aimed at improving basic clinical skills and strengthening clinical reasoning. The center promotes collaborative competence within multidisciplinary healthcare teams through simulation-based education, ensuring that students are well-prepared for the challenges of modern medical practice.

After visiting The Center for Clinical Skills & Simulation, Prof. Horng guided the MDKKU representatives through important facilities, including the research centers and clinical laboratories. These state-of-the-art facilities play a critical role in enhancing students’ clinical training and fostering advanced medical research.

This collaboration highlights the commitment of both institutions to advance medical education and research, promoting a global exchange of knowledge and experiences between students and faculty members.

คณะแพทย์ฯ มข. ร่วมมือกับ Chang Gung University ไต้หวัน เพื่อเสริมสร้างความสัมพันธ์ทางวิชาการ

เมื่อวันที่ 11 ธันวาคม 2567 คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น เยือนคณะแพทยศาสตร์ Chang Gung University ไต้หวัน เพื่อเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือด้านวิชาการและการวิจัย รวมถึงหารือเกี่ยวกับการแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษาในระดับต่าง ๆ ผู้แทนจาก คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่นในการเยือนครั้งนี้ นำโดย รศ. วรัชญา พันธุ์พฤกษ์ ผู้ช่วยฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์และสื่อสารองค์กร

On December 10, 2024, representatives from the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University (MDKKU), embarked on an inspiring visit to the prestigious National Taiwan University College of Medicine (NTUCM). This visit marked a significant step in fostering international collaboration in medical education, research, and student exchange programs.

The delegation from MDKKU, led by Assoc. Prof. Warachaya Phanphruk, Assistant Dean for International Relations, engaged with esteemed representatives from NTUCM, including Prof. Li-Jiuan Rita Shen, Associate Dean for International Affairs, and Ms. Ginger Yang, Administrative Secretary of International Affairs. This facility is a shining example of child-centered care, integrating a multidisciplinary team of pediatric healthcare experts to address complex and severe childhood diseases. The hospital’s commitment to comprehensive care—from genetics and neonatology to adolescent medicine—demonstrates its pivotal role in advancing pediatric healthcare. Furthermore, the hospital integrates clinical care with basic medical research to enhance the quality of children’s health services and contribute to public health policies.

Khon Kaen University Welcomes Indonesian Nursing Students in Groundbreaking Exchange Program

Khon Kaen, Thailand – In a remarkable move to foster international academic collaboration, Khon Kaen University (KKU) has joined hands with Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani Yogyakarta, Indonesia, welcoming two Indonesian nursing students to engage in a unique hands-on learning experience at Srinagarind Hospital.

The exchange program, spanning from December 4, 2024, to January 14, 2025, marks a significant step in building a global network of healthcare professionals while enhancing cross-cultural medical expertise.

Trailblazing International Collaboration

Two nursing students, Miss Aisya Amalia Nst and Miss Lu’lu Sarifatun Nisa, have arrived at KKU’s Faculty of Medicine for an intensive observation and study program focused on midwifery and maternal care. The initiative is part of KKU’s ongoing efforts to strengthen ties with international institutions and promote excellence in nursing education.
