On December 11, 2024, the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University (MDKKU) engaged in discussions with the College of Medicine at Chang Gung University, Taiwan, with the aim of strengthening academic cooperation and research collaboration, as well as exploring opportunities for student exchange programs at various levels. The delegation from MDKKU was led by Assoc. Prof. Warachaya Phanphruk, Assistant Dean for International Relations, MDKKU.
The discussions included the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), exploring the feasibility of establishing a medical student exchange program, and discussing potential exchanges for residents and postgraduate students. Additionally, both parties explored other areas for future collaboration, including research and academic initiatives. The talks were held with Prof. Thomas Lei, Dean of the Office of International Affairs, and Prof. Jim-Tong Horng, Associate Dean for International Affairs, College of Medicine at Chang Gung University.

Following the discussions, the MDKKU delegation had the opportunity to visit the Center for Clinical Skills & Simulation, led by Assoc. Prof. Ming-Ju Hsieh, the center’s chair. The center is an integral part of the undergraduate medical curriculum and postgraduate training at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. It is equipped with advanced medical training tools and offers students opportunities to integrate medical knowledge with hands-on practice in simulated learning environments.
The Center for Clinical Skills & Simulation at Chang Gung University has become a cornerstone of the curriculum, aimed at improving basic clinical skills and strengthening clinical reasoning. The center promotes collaborative competence within multidisciplinary healthcare teams through simulation-based education, ensuring that students are well-prepared for the challenges of modern medical practice.
After visiting The Center for Clinical Skills & Simulation, Prof. Horng guided the MDKKU representatives through important facilities, including the research centers and clinical laboratories. These state-of-the-art facilities play a critical role in enhancing students’ clinical training and fostering advanced medical research.

เมื่อวันที่ 11 ธันวาคม 2567 คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น เยือนคณะแพทยศาสตร์ Chang Gung University ไต้หวัน เพื่อเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือด้านวิชาการและการวิจัย รวมถึงหารือเกี่ยวกับการแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษาในระดับต่าง ๆ ผู้แทนจาก คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่นในการเยือนครั้งนี้ นำโดย รศ. วรัชญา พันธุ์พฤกษ์ ผู้ช่วยฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์และสื่อสารองค์กร

Furthermore, the hospital integrates clinical care with basic medical research to enhance the quality of children’s health services and contribute to public health policies.

รองศาสตราจารย์ พญ.วรัชญา พันธุ์พฤกษ์ กล่าวว่า “ความร่วมมือครั้งนี้จะเปิดโอกาสให้นักศึกษาของเรามีประสบการณ์ที่หลากหลาย เสริมสร้างทักษะ และขยายขอบเขตความรู้ ซึ่งจะนำไปสู่การพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้คนในชุมชนและวงการแพทย์โดยรวม”
ด้าน ศาสตราจารย์ Shiuh-Bin Fang ได้กล่าวเสริมว่า “นี่คือการสร้างเครือข่ายทางการแพทย์ระดับภูมิภาค ซึ่งจะช่วยต่อยอดองค์ความรู้และสร้างนวัตกรรมที่มีความสำคัญต่ออนาคต”

On December 3, the delegation traveled to Lawa village, the heart of the Lawa Model’s success. The day began at Lawa Health Promoting Hospital, where Prof. Dr. Banchob Sripa presented the intricate connections between liver fluke infections and cholangiocarcinoma, a leading cancer in Northeast Thailand.
The visitors witnessed the remarkable contributions of Village Health Volunteers (VHVs), whose grassroots efforts are central to the model’s success. Their work in raising community awareness and promoting preventive behaviors showcased the power of local engagement.
At Lawa School, the delegation observed the “Liver Fluke-Free School Program”, which educates young minds on hygiene and parasite prevention through interactive learning. Students proudly demonstrated their projects, exemplifying how education can transform community health from the ground up.

การลงพื้นที่ ณ ชุมชนบ้านละว้า ตำบลเมืองเพีย อำเภอบ้านไผ่ จังหวัดขอนแก่น ในวันที่ 3 ธันวาคม 2567 เป็นหัวใจสำคัญของการเยือนครั้งนี้ คณะผู้แทนได้สัมผัสการดำเนินงานจริงของ “ละว้าโมเดล” ซึ่งเป็นโมเดลที่เป็นต้นแบบแห่งการควบคุมพยาธิใบไม้ตับที่ผสมผสานวิทยาศาสตร์ การแพทย์ และพลังชุมชนเข้าด้วยกันอย่างลงตัว
เยี่ยมชมโรงพยาบาลส่งเสริมสุขภาพตำบลละว้า: ศูนย์กลางสุขภาพชุมชน
การเดินทางเริ่มต้นที่ โรงพยาบาลส่งเสริมสุขภาพตำบลบ้านละว้า ซึ่งเปรียบเสมือนศูนย์กลางการดูแลสุขภาพของชุมชน คณะผู้แทนได้รับการต้อนรับจากผู้อำนวยการรพ.สต. ด้วยความอบอุ่น และได้รับฟังการบรรยายจาก ศ.ดร.บรรจบ ศรีภา ในหัวข้อ “พยาธิใบไม้ตับ มะเร็งท่อน้ำดี และละว้าโมเดล” ซึ่งอธิบายถึงการเชื่อมโยงระหว่างการติดเชื้อพยาธิใบไม้ตับกับการเกิดมะเร็งท่อน้ำดีในภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือของประเทศไทย การนำเสนอครั้งนี้เน้นถึงการป้องกันและควบคุมโรคพยาธิใบไม้ตับที่ครอบคลุมทุกมิติตามหลักการ “สุขภาพหนึ่งเดียว” (One Health) ซึ่งประกอบด้วยสุขภาพคน สัตว์ และ สิ่งแวดล้อม ตั้งแต่การรณรงค์ในชุมชนเพื่อปรับเปลี่ยนพฤติกรรมการบริโภคอาหารดิบทั้งในชุมชน โรงเรียน ไปจนถึงการปรับเปลี่ยนสิ่งแวดล้อมเพื่อลดประชากรของหอยพาหะ อันจะนำไปสู่การควบคุมโรคพยาธิใบไม้ตับและมะเร็งท่อน้ำดีอย่างยั่งยืน ต่อไป

2024年12月1日至4日，由广西壮族自治区疾病预防控制中心副主任李军博士（Dr. Jun Li）率领的代表团访问了泰国孔敬大学医学院，深入了解“拉瓦模型”在泰东北地区肝吸虫病防控中的成功实践。 代表团成员包括桂林市疾控中心副主任唐国荣博士（Dr. Guorong Tang）、龙胜市疾控中心主任戴天峰博士（Dr. Tianfeng Dai）、寄生虫病防控专家唐文谦博士（Dr. Wenqian Tang）和刘健博士（Dr. Jian Liu）。
12月2日，孔敬大学医学院副院长瓦拉查亚·潘普鲁克副教授（Assoc. Prof. Warachaya Phanphruk）及其团队热情接待了代表团。 双方就医学院概况进行了深入交流，并互赠纪念品，气氛融洽。 孔敬大学的专家学者，包括热带病研究中心主任班乔·斯里帕教授（Prof. Banjob Sripa）、热带医学系主任苏塔特·苏提帕副教授（Assoc. 12月3日，代表团前往孔敬府班派县棉皮亚镇的拉瓦村，实地考察“拉瓦模型”的实施情况。 在拉瓦村健康促进医院，班乔·斯里帕教授以“肝吸虫、胆管癌与拉瓦模型”为题，介绍了肝吸虫感染与泰东北地区胆管癌高发之间的关联，以及“拉瓦模型”在防控中的作用。 代表团还观摩了村级卫生志愿者（VHV）的工作，了解他们在社区健康教育和疾病监测中的关键作用。
随后，代表团访问了拉瓦村学校，了解“无肝吸虫学校”项目，通过寓教于乐的方式，向学生传授卫生知识和预防措施。 学生们积极展示了他们对疾病预防的理解，体现了项目在培养健康行为方面的成功。 代表团还参观了当地家庭的酸鱼制作过程，讨论如何通过推广熟食或无寄生虫鱼类，降低生食酸鱼导致的肝吸虫感染风险。
下午，代表团前往拉瓦溪，观察当地居民的捕鱼活动和传统生鱼菜肴“拌鱼”的制作过程，并了解环境改造在减少肝吸虫传播中的作用。 通过此次访问，代表团深入了解了“拉瓦模型”在社区参与、健康教育和环境管理方面的综合策略，以及其在降低肝吸虫感染率和相关胆管癌发病率方面的显著成效。
