On October 21, 2025, the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University (MDKKU) warmly welcomed a distinguished delegation from the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, highlighting a significant milestone in regional medical collaboration. The delegation comprised:
- Dr. Silvia Morgoci, Senior Sector Advisor and Team Leader of the LAO/035 Health and Nutrition Programme, representing the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency (LuxDev)
- Dr. Phonesavanh Keonakhone, Nutrition Advisor and Former Director of the National Nutrition Center
- Dr. Phonepaseuth Khampanisong, Technical Programme Advisor for Human Resource for Health Development
They were received by Assoc. Prof. Assoc. Prof. Veeradej Pisprasert, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs (Clinical Graduate Studies) and Head of the Division of Clinical Nutrition, together with Dr. Thunchanok Kuichanuan, Internist in Clinical Nutrition, Department of Medicine. The meeting focused on developing a short-term Clinical Nutrition training program for medical doctors and nurses from Lao PDR.
The program, supported by LuxDev, aims to enhance the professional capacity of Lao healthcare personnel by providing two months of intensive training at Srinagarind Hospital, Khon Kaen University. Participants will gain practical experience in clinical nutrition management, patient care, and hospital-based nutrition services.
Following the discussions, the delegation visited Srinagarind Hospital’s Nutrition Department to observe and learn about the hospital’s patient nutrition management system, including menu planning, food preparation, meal service, and hospital-wide quality control. This hands-on study will play a key role in shaping the future clinical nutrition training program.
Assoc. Prof. Veeradej Pisprasert commented on the collaboration:

The selection of MDKKU as a training center reflects the expertise, international standards, and leadership of the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, reaffirming its role as a leading medical institution in Thailand dedicated to advancing healthcare both nationally and regionally.
คณะแพทย์ มข. สานสัมพันธ์ลาว–ลักเซมเบิร์ก เปิดศูนย์ฝึกอบรมโภชนศาสตร์คลินิก
เมื่อวันที่ 21 ตุลาคม 2568 คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ให้การต้อนรับคณะผู้แทนจากสาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนลาว ซึ่งประกอบด้วย
- Dr. Silvia Morgoci ที่ปรึกษาอาวุโส และหัวหน้าโครงการ LAO/035 Health and Nutrition Programme ผู้แทนจาก Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency (LuxDev)
- Dr. Phonesavanh Keonakhone ที่ปรึกษาด้านโภชนาการ และอดีตผู้อำนวยการศูนย์โภชนาการแห่งชาติ
- Dr. Phonepaseuth Khampanisong ที่ปรึกษาด้านเทคนิคโครงการ ดูแลด้านการพัฒนาทรัพยากรมนุษย์ทางสุขภาพ
โดยมี รศ.วีระเดช พิศประเสริฐ ผู้ช่วยคณบดีฝ่ายวิชาการด้านบัณฑิตศึกษาคลินิก และหัวหน้าอนุสาขาวิชาโภชนศาสตร์คลินิก พร้อมด้วย พญ.ธันย์ชนก กุ๋ยฉนวน อายุรแพทย์ด้านโภชนาการ สาขาวิชาอายุรศาสตร์ ให้การต้อนรับและหารือแนวทางความร่วมมือในการจัด หลักสูตรฝึกอบรมระยะสั้นด้านโภชนศาสตร์คลินิก สำหรับแพทย์และพยาบาลจาก สปป.ลาว
โครงการนี้ได้รับการสนับสนุนจาก LuxDev ภายใต้เป้าหมายสำคัญในการยกระดับศักยภาพบุคลากรทางการแพทย์ของ สปป.ลาว ให้มีความเชี่ยวชาญในสาขาโภชนศาสตร์คลินิก โดยมีแผนส่งแพทย์และพยาบาลเข้ารับการฝึกอบรมเป็นระยะเวลา 2 เดือน ณ โรงพยาบาลศรีนครินทร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น เพื่อศึกษาการบริหารจัดการโภชนาการในผู้ป่วยและฝึกปฏิบัติทางคลินิกอย่างเข้มข้น
ภายหลังการหารือ คณะผู้แทนได้เข้าเยี่ยมชมและศึกษาดูงานการบริหารจัดการงานโภชนาการของโรงพยาบาลศรีนครินทร์ ทั้งในส่วนของกระบวนการวางแผนเมนูอาหาร การจัดเตรียมและบริการอาหารสำหรับผู้ป่วย รวมถึงการควบคุมคุณภาพด้านโภชนาการในระดับโรงพยาบาล ซึ่งเป็นส่วนสำคัญในการพัฒนาโครงการฝึกอบรมด้านโภชนาการเชิงคลินิกในอนาคต
รศ.วีระเดช พิศประเสริฐ กล่าวถึงความร่วมมือครั้งนี้ว่า
““คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น รู้สึกเป็นเกียรติอย่างยิ่งที่ได้รับความไว้วางใจให้เป็นศูนย์ฝึกอบรมทางการแพทย์ด้านโภชนศาสตร์คลินิกสำหรับบุคลากรจาก สปป.ลาว ความร่วมมือนี้ถือเป็นก้าวสำคัญในการพัฒนาความรู้และทักษะด้านโภชนาการทางคลินิก เพื่อยกระดับคุณภาพการดูแลผู้ป่วยและสร้างประโยชน์ร่วมกันทางด้านสาธารณสุขของทั้งสองประเทศ””
Dr. Silvia Morgoci กล่าวถึงความร่วมมือในครั้งนี้ว่า
“LuxDev รู้สึกเป็นเกียรติที่ได้ร่วมมือกับคณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ซึ่งเป็นสถาบันการแพทย์ที่มีความเชี่ยวชาญและเป็นที่ยอมรับในระดับนานาชาติ ความร่วมมือนี้จะช่วยพัฒนาศักยภาพของบุคลากรทางการแพทย์จากสปป.ลาวในด้านโภชนศาสตร์คลินิก และเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นของความร่วมมือที่ยั่งยืนเพื่อยกระดับมาตรฐานการดูแลสุขภาพในภูมิภาคนี้”
การได้รับเลือกในครั้งนี้สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงศักยภาพ ความเชี่ยวชาญ และมาตรฐานระดับนานาชาติของคณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ในฐานะผู้นำด้านการแพทย์ของไทย ที่มุ่งสร้างสังคมสุขภาวะที่ยั่งยืนทั้งในประเทศและภูมิภาค
