On 8 May 2026, the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, held a closing ceremony for two medical students from Mie University, Japan, to mark the successful completion of their clinical elective exchange program at MDKKU. The program is part of the faculty’s “Go International” strategy, which aims to elevate medical education to global standards and strengthen international professional networks in medicine.
Two medical students participated in this program:
- Mr. Shota Imaichi – completed clinical elective in the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Unit.
- Mr. Rintaro Tanaka – completed clinical training at the Pediatric Surgery Unit and General Surgery Unit
Over the five-week period from 7 April to 7 May 2026, the students gained first-hand experience in a tertiary care hospital handling a wide range of complex medical cases. Mr. Imaichi had the opportunity to observe procedures in the cardiac operating room and gained close insight into the intensive care unit (ICU) patient care system. Meanwhile, Mr. Tanaka learned about differences in disease patterns and treatment approaches among pediatric patients, including conditions that are rarely seen in Japan.
One of the exchange students said:
“Participating in the elective program at the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University was an extremely valuable experience. I learned not only clinical skills and patient care systems, but also how Thai medical teams work together, which will be beneficial for my future development.”
The success of this program reflects not only the capabilities of the faculty members and the internationally recognized standards of care at the Faculty of Medicine, KKU, but also serves as an important driver of the faculty’s sustainable Internationalization Transformation strategy. The faculty remains committed to expanding collaboration with leading medical institutions around the world in order to continuously advance Thai medical education toward global standards.

5 สัปดาห์แห่งการเรียนรู้ นักศึกษาแพทย์ญี่ปุ่นสำเร็จโครงการแลกเปลี่ยน ณ คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มข.
เมื่อวันที่ 8 พฤษภาคม 2569 คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น จัดพิธีปิดและแสดงความยินดีในโอกาสที่นักศึกษาแพทย์จาก Mie University ประเทศญี่ปุ่น สำเร็จโครงการแลกเปลี่ยนทางวิชาการและการศึกษาดูงานทางคลินิก (Elective Program) ณ คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ภายใต้ยุทธศาสตร์ “Go International” ที่มุ่งยกระดับการศึกษาแพทยศาสตร์สู่มาตรฐานสากล และสร้างเครือข่ายวิชาชีพทางการแพทย์ระดับนานาชาติ
โครงการครั้งนี้มีนักศึกษาแพทย์เข้าร่วมโครงการฯ จำนวน 2 ราย ได้แก่
- Mr. Shota Imaichi: เข้าศึกษาดูงาน ณ หน่วยศัลยศาสตร์หัวใจ หลอดเลือดและทรวงอก
- Mr. Rintaro Tanaka: เข้าศึกษาดูงาน ณ หน่วยศัลยศาสตร์กุมารเวชศาสตร์ และหน่วยศัลยศาสตร์ทั่วไป
ตลอดระยะเวลา 5 สัปดาห์ ระหว่างวันที่ 7 เมษายน – 7 พฤษภาคม 2569 นักศึกษาได้สัมผัสประสบการณ์การทำงานในโรงพยาบาลระดับตติยภูมิที่มีเคสการรักษาซับซ้อนและหลากหลาย โดย Mr. Shota ได้มีโอกาสเข้าสังเกตการณ์ในห้องผ่าตัดหัวใจและเรียนรู้ระบบการดูแลผู้ป่วยวิกฤต (ICU) อย่างใกล้ชิด ขณะที่ Mr. Rintaro ได้เรียนรู้ความแตกต่างของอุบัติการณ์โรคและแนวทางการรักษาในกลุ่มผู้ป่วยเด็กที่หาดูได้ยากในประเทศญี่ปุ่น
หนึ่งในนักศึกษาแลกเปลี่ยนกล่าวว่า
“การได้เข้าร่วมโครงการ Elective ที่คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น เป็นประสบการณ์ที่มีคุณค่าอย่างมาก ผมได้เรียนรู้ทั้งทักษะทางคลินิก ระบบการดูแลผู้ป่วย และการทำงานร่วมกันของทีมแพทย์ไทย ซึ่งจะเป็นประโยชน์ต่อการพัฒนาตนเองในอนาคต”
ความสำเร็จของโครงการนี้ไม่เพียงแต่สะท้อนถึงศักยภาพของคณาจารย์และมาตรฐานการรักษาของคณะแพทยศาสตร์ มข. ที่เป็นยอมรับในระดับสากล แต่ยังเป็นฟันเฟืองสำคัญในการขับเคลื่อนยุทธศาสตร์การสร้างเครือข่ายความเป็นนานาชาติ (Internationalization Transformation) อย่างยั่งยืน โดยคณะฯ ยังคงมุ่งมั่นที่จะขยายความร่วมมือกับสถาบันการแพทย์ชั้นนำทั่วโลก เพื่อยกระดับการศึกษาแพทย์ไทยสู่มาตรฐานโลกอย่างต่อเนื่อง
五周学习之旅：日本医学生圆满完成孔敬大学医学院交流项目。
2026年5月8日，孔敬大学医学院隆重举行闭幕式，热烈祝贺来自日本三重大学（Mie University）的交流医学生圆满完成学术交流与临床考察项目（Elective Program）。本次项目秉承“走向国际”战略，旨在提升医学教育的国际标准，并构建全球医疗专业合作网络。
本次项目共有2名医学生参与，具体如下：
- Mr. Shota Imaichi：于心脏外科、血管外科及胸外科进行临床研修
- Mr. Rintaro Tanaka：于小儿外科及普通外科进行临床研修
在为期五周的研修期间（2026年4月7日至5月7日），两位学生深入三级综合医院，亲历复杂多样的临床病例。Mr. Shota 有幸参与心脏外科手术观摩，并深入学习重症监护病房（ICU）的患者管理体系；Mr. Rintaro 则系统学习了在日本较为罕见的儿科疾病谱及相应诊疗方案，收获颇丰。
一位交流学生在分享时表示：
“能够参加孔敬大学医学院的选修课项目，是一段极为宝贵的经历。我不仅学习了临床技能和患者管理体系，更深刻感受到泰国医疗团队的协作精神，这一切都将成为我未来成长道路上的重要财富。”
本项目的圆满成功，不仅彰显了孔敬大学医学院教学团队的卓越实力与国际公认的医疗水准，更是推动”国际化转型”（Internationalization Transformation）战略持续深化的重要驱动力。学院将继续致力于拓展与全球顶尖医学机构的合作，不断推动泰国医学教育迈向国际一流水准。
