Aichi Medical University exchange students complete KKU-MD elective program

On March 17, 2023, we congratulated fifth-year medical students from the School of Medicine, Aichi Medical University, Japan on the completion of their elective exchange program with us. The program ran from February 18 to March 19, 2023 under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Aichi Medical University and Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University. The students completing the program were Miss HONMI Tomoka, Miss ISHIDO Yu, Miss KAGEYAMA Yukiho, Miss MOTOMURA Riko, Miss NANAURA Ataka, Miss NIO Miki, Miss OHASHI Riho, Miss YOKOYAMA Kae, Mr. TAKAHASHI Riku, and Mr. TOMATSU Atsushi.

 

 

On their graduation day, delegates of International Challenge of Emergency (ICEM), our partner universities, from Philippines, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, and Thailand also attended. On this occasion Associate Professor Chulapan Engchanil, Associate Dean for Students Affairs, Faculty of Medicine delivered a welcome speech. As the first medical school in Northeastern Thailand, the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University now offers world class services to students and patients from all parts of the world especially from Mekong sub-region countries, and our Srinagarind Hospital plays a key role as the education center for medical training in this region, she said. After that Dr. Rey Hinolan De Los Reyes, Dean, FEU-NRMF School of Medicine, Philippines delivered his speech and presented a token of appreciation to our faculty.

 

 

All Aichi medical students were asked do end-of-program presentations to share their elective experiences. All reported having impressive experiences in Thailand both inside and outside the classroom. In addition to medical experiences they enjoyed their daily life experiences, such as Thai food, people, culture, and places. At the end of the meeting, Associate Professor Engchanil presented a certificate of achievement to them.

 

 

KKU-MD congratulated Aichi medical students on their achievement. We were so pleased to be part of their successful time and so glad to have them in our faculty spending a wonderful time in Khon Kaen, Thailand.
