On September 26, 2025, the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, held a certificate presentation for Dr. Nathalika Phongsavath, a physician from the University of Health Sciences, Lao PDR, who successfully completed a one-year clinical training program in Oncologic Gynecology at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Nathalika undertook the training from October 7, 2024, to September 26, 2025, under the supervision and guidance of academic staff at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University.

At the closing session, Dr. Nathalika presented the outcomes of her clinical training and shared her academic experiences with faculty members before receiving a certificate of completion, marking a significant milestone in strengthening medical expertise and academic collaboration between Thailand and the Lao PDR.

แพทย์จาก สปป.ลาว สำเร็จการฝึกอบรมด้านมะเร็งนรีเวช ณ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น

เมื่อวันที่ 26 กันยายน 2568 คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ได้จัดพิธีมอบเกียรติบัตรแก่ Dr. Nathalika Phongsavath แพทย์จากมหาวิทยาลัยวิทยาศาสตร์สุขภาพ (University of Health Sciences) สาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนลาว ซึ่งสำเร็จการฝึกอบรมด้านมะเร็งนรีเวช ณ สาขาวิชาสูติศาสตร์และนรีเวชวิทยา

Dr. Nathalika ได้เข้าร่วมการฝึกอบรมระหว่างวันที่ 7 ตุลาคม 2567 ถึง 26 กันยายน 2568 รวมระยะเวลา 1 ปี โดยได้รับการถ่ายทอดความรู้และทักษะจากคณาจารย์ผู้เชี่ยวชาญในสาขาวิชาสูติศาสตร์และนรีเวชวิทยา มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น

ภายในวันดังกล่าว Dr. Nathalika ได้นำเสนอผลการฝึกอบรม พร้อมแลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์ทางวิชาการกับคณาจารย์และบุคลากร ก่อนจะได้รับประกาศนียบัตรเป็นการยืนยันถึงความสำเร็จและเป็นอีกก้าวสำคัญในการพัฒนาศักยภาพทางการแพทย์ร่วมกันระหว่างไทยและ สปป. ลาว

 

 

On September 26, 2025, the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, hosted a closing ceremony and certificate presentation for three medical professionals from Mahosot Hospital, Lao PDR, who successfully completed a four-week training program in the Department of Radiology from September 1 – 26, 2025. The participants included:

• Dr. Phonevilay Chanthalangsy, Radiologist
• Miss Haikham Vongsegdeuan, Radiologic Technologist
• Miss Souphansa Inthala, Radiologic Technologist

The training focused on Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) diagnostics, offering participants comprehensive knowledge and practical exposure under the guidance of academic staff from the Department of Radiology.

At the closing session, the participants presented their learning outcomes and shared experiences with faculty members before receiving certificates of completion in recognition of their achievements.

This successful program highlights the academic collaboration between Thailand and the Lao PDR, aiming to strengthen medical expertise and enhance healthcare services across the region.

บุคลากรการแพทย์จากโรงพยาบาลมโหสถ สปป.ลาว สำเร็จการฝึกอบรม MRI ที่ มข. 

วันที่ 26 กันยายน 2568 คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น จัดพิธีปิดการฝึกอบรมและมอบประกาศนียบัตรแก่บุคลากรทางการแพทย์จากโรงพยาบาลมโหสถ สปป.ลาว ได้แก่

• Dr. Phonevilay Chanthalangsy รังสีแพทย์
• Miss Haikham Vongsegdeuan นักรังสีเทคนิค
• Miss Souphansa Inthala นักรังสีเทคนิค

ทั้งสามท่านได้เข้าร่วมการศึกษาดูงานในสาขาวิชารังสีวิทยา คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ระหว่างวันที่ 1–26 กันยายน 2568 (ระยะเวลา 4 สัปดาห์) โดยมุ่งเน้นด้านการตรวจวินิจฉัยด้วยคลื่นแม่เหล็กไฟฟ้า (Magnetic Resonance Imaging: MRI)

ภายในวันดังกล่าว ผู้เข้าร่วมได้นำเสนอผลการเรียนรู้และประสบการณ์ที่ได้รับ พร้อมแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ร่วมกับคณาจารย์และบุคลากรคณะแพทยศาสตร์ ก่อนที่คณะฯ จะมอบประกาศนียบัตรเพื่อแสดงความยินดีและเป็นเกียรติแก่ความสำเร็จในครั้งนี้

การเสร็จสิ้นโครงการครั้งนี้สะท้อนถึงความร่วมมือทางวิชาการระหว่างประเทศไทยและสาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนลาว ที่มุ่งพัฒนาศักยภาพบุคลากรทางการแพทย์เพื่อยกระดับคุณภาพการดูแลผู้ป่วยในภูมิภาคร่วมกัน

 

 

The Faculty of Medicine at Khon Kaen University (KKU) will welcome a doctor from Laos for a two-year specialist fellowship, an initiative aimed at enhancing medical expertise and strengthening academic cooperation between the two neighbouring countries.

Dr. Visana Khathoumphom, a physician from Mahosot Hospital in Vientiane, Lao PDR, has been accepted for advanced training at the university. She will undertake a Fellowship Program in Otology and Neuro-Otology, a subspecialty focused on diseases of the ear and related neurological disorders, at the Faculty of Medicine’s Department of Otorhinolaryngology.

The intensive training program is scheduled to run from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2027.

คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มข. ต้อนรับแพทย์เฉพาะทางจาก สปป.ลาว ศึกษาต่อยอด 2 ปีเต็ม ในอนุสาขาโรคโสตและโสตประสาทวิทยา

คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น (มข.) เดินหน้ายุทธศาสตร์สู่ความเป็นนานาชาติ โดยให้การต้อนรับ Dr. Visana Khathoumphom แพทย์จากโรงพยาบาลมโหสถ กระทรวงสาธารณสุข สปป.ลาว ในโอกาสเข้าศึกษาและเพิ่มพูนทักษะในหลักสูตรแพทย์เฉพาะทางต่อยอดเป็นระยะเวลา 2 ปีเต็ม เพื่อยกระดับความเชี่ยวชาญและเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือทางวิชาการด้านการแพทย์ระหว่างสองประเทศให้แน่นแฟ้นยิ่งขึ้น

โดย Dr. Visana Khathoumphom จะเข้าศึกษาในหลักสูตร Fellowship Program in Otology and Neuro-Otology (อนุสาขาโรคโสตและโสตประสาทวิทยา) ณ สาขาวิชาโสต ศอ นาสิกวิทยา คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น โดยมีกำหนดระยะเวลาการศึกษาตั้งแต่วันที่ 1 กรกฎาคม 2568 ถึงวันที่ 30 มิถุนายน 2570

 

 

The Faculty of Medicine at Khon Kaen University hosted a delegation of nursing students from Japan and China on Tuesday, 16 September 2025, for a study visit focused on midwifery processes.

The visit saw students from two prominent Asian institutions, Kumamoto Health Science University in Japan and Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine in China, tour one of the university hospital’s key departments.

The Faculty of Medicine at Khon Kaen University (KKU) hosted a delegation of medical technology students from two leading Japanese universities, marking a continued effort to enhance international academic collaboration.

On 15 September 2025, students from Fujita Health University and Kumamoto Health Science University were welcomed for a study visit designed to promote scholarly exchange. The initiative supports the faculty’s strategic goals for internationalization by providing students with exposure to global healthcare practices.

A major teaching hospital in Northeast Thailand has welcomed an international delegation of nursing faculty and students from Japan and Norway for a study visit focused on exchanging knowledge on nursing technology and innovation.

The visit took place on Thursday, 4 September 2025, at Srinagarind Hospital, part of Khon Kaen University’s Faculty of Medicine.

The multinational delegation was comprised of faculty and students from two leading institutions:

From the University of Shizuoka, Japan, the group included faculty members Professor Mayumi Negishi and Dr. Miho Kondo, accompanied by students Mr. Aoi Hagiwara, Mr. Keita Sato, Ms. Nodoka Ikuma, and Ms. Yuika Yamada.

From Molde University College, Norway, the student representatives were Ms. Anna Romuld Holsvik, Ms. Idun Frilund, Ms. Jessica Ailin Akselvoll, and Ms. Mira Nuncic.

The group was given observational access to the hospital’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), a specialized ward for critically ill children with complex medical needs. This allowed the visitors to see clinical practices and advanced patient care techniques.

According to the hospital, the visit was intended not only to build an academic cooperation network but also to serve as a platform for exchanging knowledge and innovation in medicine and nursing, with the goal of collaboratively elevating global standards of patient care.

รพ.ศรีนครินทร์ ต้อนรับทัพอาจารย์-นศ.พยาบาล จากญี่ปุ่นและนอร์เวย์

เมื่อวันที่ 4 กันยายน 2568 ที่ผ่านมา โรงพยาบาลศรีนครินทร์ คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ได้ให้การต้อนรับคณะผู้แทนคณาจารย์และนักศึกษาพยาบาลจากนานาชาติ ทั้งจากประเทศญี่ปุ่นและราชอาณาจักรนอร์เวย์ ในโอกาสเดินทางมาศึกษาดูงานเพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้เทคโนโลยีและนวัตกรรมทางการพยาบาล

Two nursing students from Japan have visited Srinagarind Hospital in Northeast Thailand to study its specialized system for patient care within a semi-critical unit.

On Friday, 12 September 2025, Ms. Yuri Makimoto and Ms. Kokomi Yamaguchi from Kumamoto Health Science University closely observed the clinical work of the hospital’s nursing team.

The primary objective of the study visit was to understand the patient care system within the Internal Medicine Semi-Critical Care Unit. This unit plays a vital role in caring for internal medicine patients who are past the critical phase but still have complex conditions that require continuous monitoring before they can be transferred to a general ward.

The experience provided the students with important knowledge on caring for this specific group of “step-down” patients, which they can apply to their future nursing careers.

นักศึกษาพยาบาลญี่ปุ่นศึกษาดูงาน ‘หอผู้ป่วยกึ่งวิกฤต‘ ในโรงพยาบาลศรีนครินทร์

เมื่อวันที่ 12 กันยายน 2568, Ms. Yuri Makimoto และ Ms. Kokomi Yamaguchi นักศึกษาพยาบาลจาก Kumamoto Health Science University ประเทศญี่ปุ่น ได้เข้าสังเกตการณ์การทำงานจริงของทีมพยาบาลอย่างใกล้ชิด จุดมุ่งหมายหลักของการศึกษาดูงานครั้งนี้คือการทำความเข้าใจระบบการดูแลผู้ป่วยใน หอผู้ป่วยกึ่งวิกฤตอายุรกรรม (Internal Medicine Semi-Critical Care Unit) ซึ่งเป็นหน่วยงานที่มีความสำคัญอย่างยิ่งในการดูแลผู้ป่วยอายุรกรรมที่พ้นภาวะวิกฤติ แต่ยังคงมีความซับซ้อนและต้องการการเฝ้าระวังอย่างต่อเนื่อง ก่อนที่จะถูกส่งต่อไปยังหอผู้ป่วยสามัญ

การดูงานครั้งนี้เปิดโอกาสให้นักศึกษาได้เรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับการดูแลผู้ป่วยกลุ่มที่ต้องการการดูแลเป็นพิเศษ ซึ่งเป็นองค์ความรู้สำคัญที่สามารถนำไปปรับใช้กับการปฏิบัติงานพยาบาลในอนาคตได้

 

 

Two Japanese physical therapy students have completed a two-day study visit at medical centre to observe advanced patient care and rehabilitation techniques.

Ms. Rika Tanaka, a third-year student, and Ms. Miku Watanabe, a first-year student from Kumamoto Health Science University in Japan, visited Khon Kaen University’s Faculty of Medicine on 10-11 September.

 

 

The visit began at Srinagarind Hospital, the university’s main teaching hospital and a major regional healthcare provider. The students spent their first day observing clinical practices within the Neurological Physical Therapy and Physical Therapy units. According to the university, the programme was designed to provide insights into rehabilitation processes for patients with diverse and complex conditions.

On their second day, the students toured the Queen Sirikit Heart Center of the Northeast, a specialist facility for cardiovascular diseases. The university stated that this part of the visit aimed to broaden their perspective beyond physiotherapy, offering a look into the comprehensive care and technology used for cardiac and vascular patients.

นักศึกษากายภาพบำบัดญี่ปุ่นเยือนศูนย์การแพทย์ชั้นนำของไทย

นักศึกษากายภาพบำบัดชาวญี่ปุ่น Ms. Rika Tanaka นักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 3 และ Ms. Miku Watanabe นักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 1 จาก Kumamoto Health Science University ประเทศญี่ปุ่น เข้าศึกษาดูงาน ณ คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ระหว่างวันที่ 10-11 กันยายน ที่ผ่านมา

การศึกษาดูงานเริ่มต้นที่โรงพยาบาลศรีนครินทร์ ซึ่งเป็นโรงพยาบาลเพื่อการเรียนการสอนหลักของมหาวิทยาลัยและเป็นผู้ให้บริการทางการแพทย์ที่สำคัญของภูมิภาค ในวันแรก นักศึกษาได้เข้าสังเกตการณ์การปฏิบัติงานทางคลินิกในหน่วยกายภาพบำบัด โรงพยาบาลศรีนครินทร์ และ ศูนย์หัวใจสิริกิติ์ ภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ โดยเปิดโอกาสให้เรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับการดูแลแบบองค์รวมและเทคโนโลยีที่ใช้สำหรับผู้ป่วย

 

 

A team of medical professionals from Laos, including a radiologist and two radiologic technologists, is set to begin a month-long training programme in advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) at Khon Kaen University in Thailand.

The delegation from Mahosot Hospital in Laos will attend the intensive course at the university’s Faculty of Medicine throughout September. The initiative aims to enhance the skills of medical personnel in the region.

The team is led by Dr. Phonevilay Chanthalangsy, a radiologist from Mahosot Hospital, which is the principal hospital in the Lao PDR. She will be accompanied by two experienced radiologic technologists, Miss Souphansa Inthala and Miss Haikham Vongsngdeuan.

The four-week programme, running from 1 to 26 September 2025, will focus on providing advanced knowledge and skills in the use of MRI technology. This sophisticated imaging technique is crucial for diagnosing complex diseases with high precision.

This training is part of Khon Kaen University’s broader strategy to foster international medical collaboration, particularly with neighbouring countries in the Mekong region, to sustainably elevate public health standards.

การศึกษาดูงานในครั้งนี้จะมีขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 1 – 26 กันยายน 2568 รวมระยะเวลา 4 สัปดาห์เต็ม โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเพิ่มพูนความรู้และทักษะในการใช้เครื่อง MRI ซึ่งเป็นเทคโนโลยีการถ่ายภาพทางการแพทย์ขั้นสูงที่สามารถวินิจฉัยโรคที่มีความซับซ้อนได้อย่างแม่นยำ สำหรับบุคลากรทั้ง 3 ท่าน ล้วนเป็นผู้มีประสบการณ์ด้านรังสีวิทยาจากโรงพยาบาลมโหสถ ซึ่งเป็นโรงพยาบาลหลักของ สปป.ลาว โดย Dr. Phonevilay เป็นรังสีแพทย์ผู้เชี่ยวชาญ ขณะที่ Miss Souphansa จบการศึกษาด้านรังสีวิทยาโดยตรง และ Miss Haikham ก็เป็นนักรังสีเทคนิคที่มีประสบการณ์ในโรงพยาบาลมโหสถมาอย่างยาวนาน

โครงการนี้มุ่งเน้นการสร้างเครือข่ายและแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ทางการแพทย์กับนานาประเทศ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งกับประเทศเพื่อนบ้านในภูมิภาคลุ่มน้ำโขง เพื่อยกระดับมาตรฐานสาธารณสุขร่วมกันอย่างยั่งยืน

 

 

Four medical students from the UK, France, Russia, and Indonesia have presented the findings from a month-long elective programme at Khon Kaen University’s Faculty of Medicine, highlighting their experiences in complex surgeries and world-class research.

The students concluded their placements at Srinagarind Hospital on Friday, 29 August 2025, with a final presentation summarising their clinical and research insights. The programme is a key part of the university’s “Internationalization Transformation” strategy, which aims to foster global collaboration in medicine.

The four participants were:

1. Miss Sola Kim, a 5th-year student from Leicester Medical School, University of Leicester, UK.
2. Miss Candice Penot, a 4th-year student from the Faculty of Medicine, Université de Rouen, France.
3. Miss Arina Letyagina, a 2nd-year student from First Moscow State Medical University Named after I. M. Sechenov, Russia.
4. I Made Yudhaswara Viryavan, a 3rd-year student from the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Indonesia.

 

 

During their four-week placements, the students gained exposure to a wide range of medical fields.

• Miss Sola Kim, a Thai national studying in the UK, described her time in paediatric surgery as fascinating, where she observed conditions she had only read about in textbooks, such as Biliary Atresia and Gastroschisis. In cardiothoracic surgery, she witnessed complex procedures including an off-pump coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) and praised the operating theatre’s live camera system as an “excellent educational tool”.
• For Miss Candice Penot, the experience solidified her career goals. She recounted that witnessing an open-heart surgery on a three-year-old was a profound moment that confirmed her desire to become a paediatric surgeon.
• Miss Arina Letyagina and Mr. I Made Yudhaswara Viryavan both spent time at the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute (CARI) and the Division of Gastrointestinal and Liver Surgery. Miss Letyagina said she was deeply impressed with the “innovation and research” at the university. Mr. Viryavan reflected that the placement at a specialised centre provided him with a deeper understanding of tropical diseases and the importance of holistic patient care.

แพทย์ มข. โชว์ศักยภาพฮับการแพทย์โลก! 4 นศ. อินเตอร์ ปิดคอร์สดูงาน เผยอินไซต์สุดทึ่งจากห้องผ่าตัด-แล็บวิจัย

คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ตอกย้ำความเป็นเลิศสู่สากล หลังจัดเวทีให้นักศึกษาแพทย์แลกเปลี่ยน 4 คน จากสถาบันชั้นนำใน 4 ชาติ นำเสนอผลการศึกษาดูงานสุดเข้มข้นตลอด 1 เดือนเต็ม ณ โรงพยาบาลศรีนครินทร์ เผยได้รับประสบการณ์ล้ำค่า ทั้งการส่องเคสผ่าตัดซับซ้อนที่หาดูได้ยาก ไปจนถึงการเรียนรู้งานวิจัยมะเร็งท่อน้ำดีระดับโลก

เมื่อวันศุกร์ที่ 29 สิงหาคม 2568 ที่ผ่านมา คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น (มข.) ได้จัดกิจกรรมนำเสนอผลการศึกษาและแลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์ (Elective Presentation) ของนักศึกษาแพทย์นานาชาติ 4 คน ซึ่งถือเป็นการปิดท้ายโครงการแลกเปลี่ยนตลอดเดือนสิงหาคมอย่างน่าประทับใจ โดยนักศึกษาแพทย์ทั้ง 4 คน ประกอบด้วย:

2. Miss Candice Penot จาก Faculty of Medicine, Université de Rouen สาธารณรัฐฝรั่งเศส

ตลอดระยะเวลา 4 สัปดาห์ นักศึกษาแพทย์ทั้ง 4 คน ได้หมุนเวียนเข้าเรียนรู้งานในภาควิชาต่างๆ โดยแต่ละคนได้ถ่ายทอดประสบการณ์ที่น่าสนใจแตกต่างกันไป ดังนี้

Miss Sola Kim นักศึกษาแพทย์ชั้นปีที่ 5 เชื้อชาติไทย นำเสนอประสบการณ์เชิงลึกจากการดูงานในสาขาศัลยศาสตร์เด็ก ซึ่งเธอได้เห็นเคสที่เคยเรียนแต่ในตำรา ทั้ง ภาวะท่อน้ำดีตีบตัน (Biliary Atresia) และ ภาวะผนังหน้าท้องไม่ปิด (Gastroschisis) นอกจากนี้ ในสาขาศัลยศาสตร์หัวใจและทรวงอก เธอยังได้เห็นการผ่าตัดบายพาสหัวใจโดยไม่ใช้เครื่องปอด-หัวใจเทียม (Off-pump CABG) พร้อมชื่นชมระบบกล้อง Live Camera ในห้องผ่าตัดที่ช่วยให้เรียนรู้ได้อย่างเต็มประสิทธิภาพ

Miss Candice Penot เล่าว่า “เป็นประสบการณ์ที่เปิดโลกทัศน์อย่างมาก” โดยเธอได้เข้าศึกษาที่ภาควิชาศัลยศาสตร์เด็กและสูติศาสตร์-นรีเวชวิทยา สิ่งที่จุดประกายความฝันของเธอคือการได้เห็นการผ่าตัดเปิดหัวใจในเด็กอายุ 3 ขวบ ซึ่งทำให้เธอมั่นใจในเป้าหมายการเป็นศัลยแพทย์เด็กในอนาคต

Miss Arina Letyagina และ Mr. I Made Yudhaswara Viryavan ได้เข้าดูงานที่สถาบันวิจัยมะเร็งท่อน้ำดี (CARI) และสาขาวิชาศัลยศาสตร์ทางเดินอาหารและตับ ซึ่ง Miss Arina Letyagina เผยว่า “รู้สึกทึ่งกับนวัตกรรมและงานวิจัยของ มข. เป็นอย่างยิ่ง” ส่วน Mr. I Made Yudhaswara Viryavan สะท้อนว่า การได้เรียนรู้จากศูนย์เชี่ยวชาญเฉพาะทางโดยตรงทำให้เข้าใจมิติของโรคเขตร้อนและการดูแลผู้ป่วยแบบองค์รวมได้ลึกซึ้งยิ่งขึ้น
