On August 26, 2025, the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, led by Associate Professor Thuss Sanguansak, MD, Vice Dean for International Relations and Corporate Communication, welcomed Professor Yuichi Kasai together with distinguished Japanese experts: Kato Takaya, MD, Hirata Hirohito, MD, and Morimoto Tadatsugu, MD, on the occasion of their invitation as guest lecturers at the Department of Orthopedics.

Associate Professor Permsak Paholpak, MD, and faculty members from the Department of Orthopedics joined the meeting to discuss potential academic collaborations and knowledge exchange opportunities. The discussions covered various aspects including medical education, training workshops, and joint research projects, aiming to enhance the professional skills and academic development of medical students and healthcare personnel.

The meeting was conducted in a warm and cordial atmosphere, fostering mutual respect and friendship between the two institutions. Both sides engaged in meaningful academic exchanges, discussing not only advancements in patient care and modern orthopedic surgical techniques, but also innovative approaches to curriculum development that emphasize hands-on training and the enhancement of clinical skills among medical students.

เมื่อวันที่ 26 สิงหาคม 2568 คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น นำโดย รองศาสตราจารย์ ธรรศ สงวนศักดิ์ รองคณบดีฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์และสื่อสารองค์กร ให้การต้อนรับ Professor Yuichi Kasai พร้อมด้วยคณะผู้เชี่ยวชาญจากประเทศญี่ปุ่น ได้แก่ Kato Takaya, MD, Hirata Hirohito, MD และ Morimoto Tadatsugu, MD เนื่องในโอกาสได้รับเชิญให้เป็นวิทยากร ณ สาขาวิชาออร์โธปิดิกส์

ในการเข้าพบครั้งนี้ รองศาสตราจารย์ นายแพทย์เพิ่มศักดิ์ พหลภาคย์ และคณาจารย์สาขาออร์โธปิดิกส์ ได้เข้าร่วมต้อนรับและหารือประเด็นความร่วมมือทางวิชาการและการแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้ในหลายด้าน อาทิ การเรียนการสอน การฝึกอบรมเชิงปฏิบัติการ และการวิจัยร่วมกัน เพื่อเสริมสร้างศักยภาพและพัฒนาทักษะทางวิชาชีพของนักศึกษาแพทย์และบุคลากรทางการแพทย์

บรรยากาศการพบปะเป็นไปอย่างอบอุ่น เต็มไปด้วยความเป็นกันเองและมิตรภาพ ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้แลกเปลี่ยนมุมมองเชิงวิชาการอย่างลึกซึ้ง ไม่เพียงแต่ในด้านการดูแลรักษาผู้ป่วยและเทคนิคทางศัลยกรรมออร์โธปิดิกส์สมัยใหม่ แต่ยังรวมถึงแนวคิดการพัฒนาหลักสูตรการเรียนการสอนที่เน้นการฝึกปฏิบัติจริงและการเสริมสร้างทักษะเชิงคลินิกแก่นักศึกษาแพทย์

The Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University (KKU) cordially welcomed a delegation from Mie University, Japan, during 16–23 August 2025. The group was led by Assoc. Prof. Shigeyuki Yoshiyama, MD, PhD. from the Department of Gastrointestinal and Pediatric Surgery, Mie University Hospital, accompanied by medical students Ms. Mirai Tsuchida (3rd year), Ms. Hina Sakakibara (2nd year), Ms. Mahiro Sasaki (2nd year), and Ms. Mao Nakagawa (2nd year).

The delegation was received by Assoc. Prof. Pattarapong Makarawate, MD, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Asst. Prof. Supawan Laohasiriwong, MD, Assistant Dean for International Relations and Corporate Communication. The courtesy meeting reaffirmed the long-standing partnership between the two institutions, underscoring their continuous academic collaboration over the years. It also served as a meaningful platform to reflect upon past achievements while exchanging perspectives and outlining future directions for mutually beneficial cooperation.

The academic program featured an immersive visit to the Lawa Model at Lawa Village’s Health Promoting Hospital (HPH) to study “Liver Fluke, Cancer, and the Lawa Model,” including demonstrations of community-based prevention strategies, a visit to Banlawa School under the “Liver Fluke–Free School Programme,” and cultural–environmental activities at Lawa Lake to understand local contexts that inform public health action.

The delegation also visited Samlium Primary Care Unit (SPCU) where Assoc. Prof. Pattapong Kasemsomboon, MD, PhD, Department of Community Medicine, Family Medicine, and Occupational Medicine, delivered a lecture on “Health System, Primary Care, and the Role of Doctors.” This was followed by observations of outpatient services integrating chronic disease management, preventive care, and community-engaged health services. At the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute (CARI), Assoc. Prof. Watcharin Loilome, Director of CARI, presented an overview of research on liver fluke–associated bile duct cancer, early detection, and integrated care; the visit included a hospital and academic facility tour focusing on surgical oncology and clinical management pathways for Cholangiocarcinoma.

Further activities included a visit to the Department of Traditional Thai Medicine, Khon Kaen Hospital to observe Thai massage, traditional healing practices, and Thai herbal medicine, as well as a field visit to Ubolratana Hospital and the Sustainable Community Development Foundation to learn about community-based healthcare services, sustainable development initiatives, and rural public health strategies.

This visit truly bridged the classroom with the community. The delegates from Mie University gained insights ranging from in-depth research on liver fluke–related Cholangiocarcinoma to Thailand’s primary care services, traditional medicine, and rural public health strategies. The outcomes are expected to include expanded student exchanges, clinical observerships, and joint research benefiting population health, while further strengthening the image of KKU and Mie University as partners driving community-based health innovation.

คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ได้ให้การต้อนรับคณะผู้แทนจากมหาวิทยาลัยมิเอะ ประเทศญี่ปุ่น ระหว่างวันที่ 16–23 สิงหาคม 2568 นำโดย Assoc. Prof. Shigeyuki Yoshiyama ภาควิชาศัลยศาสตร์ทางเดินอาหารและกุมารศัลยกรรม โรงพยาบาลมหาวิทยาลัยมิเอะ พร้อมด้วยนักศึกษาแพทย์ ได้แก่ Ms. Mirai Tsuchida (ชั้นปี 3) Ms. Hina Sakakibara (ชั้นปี 2) Ms. Mahiro Sasaki (ชั้นปี 2) และ Ms. Mao Nakagawa (ชั้นปี 2)

คณะผู้แทนได้รับการต้อนรับโดย รองศาสตราจารย์ นพ. ภัทรพงษ์ มกรเวส คณบดีคณะแพทยศาสตร์ และ ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ พญ. สุภวรรณ เลาหศิริวงศ์ ผู้ช่วยคณบดีฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์และสื่อสารองค์กร ในการเข้าพบหารือครั้งนี้เป็นการตอกย้ำถึงสายสัมพันธ์อันยาวนานระหว่างทั้งสองสถาบัน อันสะท้อนถึงความร่วมมือทางวิชาการที่ได้ดำเนินมาอย่างต่อเนื่องตลอดหลายปีที่ผ่านมา อีกทั้งยังเป็นเวทีสำคัญในการทบทวนผลการดำเนินงานในอดีต พร้อมทั้งแลกเปลี่ยนมุมมองและกำหนดทิศทางความร่วมมือที่จะก่อให้เกิดประโยชน์ร่วมกันในอนาคต

กิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ประกอบด้วยการลงพื้นที่ศึกษารูปแบบ Lawa Model ณ โรงพยาบาลส่งเสริมสุขภาพตำบลบ้านละว้า (รพ.สต.บ้านละว้า) ตำบลเมืองเพีย อำเภอบ้านไผ่ จังหวัดขอนแก่น ในหัวข้อ “พยาธิใบไม้ตับ มะเร็ง และ Lawa Model” ชมการสาธิตมาตรการป้องกันในชุมชน เยี่ยมชม โรงเรียนบ้านละว้า ภายใต้โครงการ “โรงเรียนปลอดพยาธิใบไม้ตับ” และทำกิจกรรมด้านวัฒนธรรมและสิ่งแวดล้อม ณ แก่งละว้า เพื่อทำความเข้าใจสภาพความเป็นอยู่ในชนบทซึ่งเป็นพื้นฐานของการดำเนินงานด้านสาธารณสุข

คณะฯ ยังได้เยี่ยมชม หน่วยบริการปฐมภูมิสามเหลี่ยม โดยมี รองศาสตราจารย์ นายแพทย์ ดร.ปัตพงษ์ เกษสมบูรณ์ สาขาวิชาเวชศาสตร์ชุมชน เวชศาสตร์ครอบครัว และอาชีวเวชศาสตร์ เป็นวิทยากรบรรยายในหัวข้อ “ระบบสุขภาพ การแพทย์ปฐมภูมิ และบทบาทแพทย์” จากนั้นได้เยี่ยมชมระบบการให้บริการผู้ป่วยนอกที่บูรณาการการดูแลโรคเรื้อรัง การส่งเสริมป้องกันโรค และการทำงานเชื่อมโยงกับชุมชน ต่อด้วยการรับฟังการบรรยายจาก สถาบันวิจัยมะเร็งท่อน้ำดี (CARI) โดย รศ.ดร.วัชรินทร์ ลอยลม ผู้อำนวยการสถาบันฯ นำเสนอภาพรวมงานวิจัย การคัดกรองระยะแรก และการดูแลแบบบูรณาการ พร้อมเยี่ยมชมเส้นทางการดูแลผู้ป่วยด้านศัลยกรรมมะเร็ง

นอกจากนี้ คณะผู้แทนยังได้เยี่ยมชม กลุ่มงานแพทย์แผนไทยและแพทย์ทางเลือก โรงพยาบาลขอนแก่น เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้ด้านการนวดไทย การรักษาแบบดั้งเดิม และสมุนไพรไทย รวมถึงลงพื้นที่ โรงพยาบาลอุบลรัตน์ และ ศูนย์ค้ำคูณ เพื่อเรียนรู้บริการสุขภาพฐานชุมชน โครงการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน และยุทธศาสตร์สาธารณสุขชุมชน

การเยือนครั้งนี้เป็นการผสมผสานระหว่าง “ห้องเรียนกับชุมชน” อย่างแท้จริง ผู้แทนจากมหาวิทยาลัยมิเอะได้เห็นภาพรวมตั้งแต่งานวิจัยเชิงลึกด้านพยาธิใบไม้ตับ–มะเร็งท่อน้ำดี ไปจนถึงระบบบริการปฐมภูมิ แพทย์แผนไทย และยุทธศาสตร์สาธารณสุขชนบทของไทย ผลที่คาดหวังคือการต่อยอดโครงการแลกเปลี่ยน การสังเกตการณ์ทางคลินิก และความร่วมมือวิจัยที่มีผลต่อสุขภาพประชาชน ทั้งยังเสริมภาพลักษณ์ KKU–Mie University ในฐานะพันธมิตรที่ขับเคลื่อนนวัตกรรมสุขภาพบนฐานชุมชน

Khon Kaen, Thailand — Prof. Steven Edwards, Professor of Infection Biology & Microbiomes, Institute of Infection, Veterinary & Ecological Sciences, Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, University of Liverpool, UK, visited the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University (MDKKU) from July 15 to 25, 2025 as a Research Visiting Professor. His visit focused on advancing joint research and academic exchange in infectious diseases and tropical medicine.

Advanced Research in Infectious Diseases and Immunology

During his visit, Prof. Edwards led multiple research initiatives in partnership with MDKKU colleagues, with a particular focus on infectious diseases and immunological responses in tropical settings. A major collaborative project with Assoc. Prof. Supranee Phanthanawiboon, Department of Microbiology, examined neutrophil gene expression in response to dengue virus stimulation. Using state-of-the-art RNA sequencing and bioinformatics tools, the research aimed to shed light on how innate immune responses were regulated during viral infections—findings that may pave the way for improved diagnostics for dengue and other vector-borne diseases.

In addition, he continued his collaboration with the Department of Tropical Medicine on cholangiocarcinoma, an aggressive form of bile duct cancer prevalent in northeastern Thailand. By investigating the immunological pathways involved in disease progression, the research team hoped to identify potential biomarkers for early detection and novel therapeutic targets.

Hands-On Experience for Postgraduate Students

Prof. Edwards brought postgraduate students from the University of Liverpool to participate in laboratory workshops and joint field research within the Microbiology and Tropical Medicine departments. These students gained valuable hands-on experience with tropical pathogens while benefiting from the unique research environment that Khon Kaen offered.

Strengthening Collaboration at the Leadership Level

On July 21, 2025, Prof. Edwards and his students met with senior leadership from the Faculty of Medicine, including Assoc. Prof. Pattarapong Makarawate, Dean; Assoc. Prof. Warachaya Phanphruk, Assistant Dean for International Relations and Corporate Communication; Assoc. Prof. Sutas Suttiprapa, Head of the Department of Tropical Medicine; and Assoc. Prof. Supranee Phanthanawiboon, Department of Microbiology. Discussions focused on expanding joint research initiatives, pursuing international grants, and developing deeper academic exchange programs.

Mentorship and Capacity Building

Beyond laboratory work, Prof. Edwards provided critical mentorship to local researchers, offering guidance on scientific manuscript preparation and strategies for applying to international research grants. His support was instrumental in increasing the visibility and competitiveness of research outputs from Khon Kaen University on the global stage.

A Decade of Collaboration

The partnership between Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University and the University of Liverpool was formally established in 2015, following Prof. Edwards’ first visit in 2014. Over the past decade, the collaboration yielded significant outcomes—including joint research on cholangiocarcinoma, active student mobility programs, and shared funding opportunities. Prof. Edwards remained a cornerstone of this alliance, continually fostering scientific exchange and capacity building between the UK and Thailand.

คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มข. จับมือ University of Liverpool ผลักดันงานวิจัยโรคติดเชื้อและเวชศาสตร์เขตร้อนสู่เวทีโลก

คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ได้ให้การต้อนรับ Prof. Steven Edwards, Professor of Infection Biology & Microbiomes, Institute of Infection, Veterinary & Ecological Sciences, Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, University of Liverpool, UK ซึ่งได้เดินทางมาเยือนในฐานะ Research Visiting Professor ระหว่างวันที่ 15 – 25 กรกฎาคม 2568 โดยการเยือนครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์สำคัญในการผลักดันความร่วมมือด้านการวิจัยโรคติดเชื้อและเวชศาสตร์เขตร้อน ตลอดจนการยกระดับศักยภาพการวิจัยของคณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่นสู่ระดับสากล

ผลักดันงานวิจัยด้านโรคติดเชื้อเขตร้อน

หนึ่งในโครงการวิจัยสำคัญที่ดำเนินการในช่วงการเยือนครั้งนี้ คือความร่วมมือกับ รศ. สุปราณี พันธุ์ธนวิบูลย์สาขาวิชาจุลชีววิทยา โดยมุ่งศึกษาการทำงานของเซลล์นิวโทรฟิลและการแสดงออกของยีนเมื่อถูกกระตุ้นด้วยเชื้อไวรัสเดงกี งานวิจัยนี้ใช้เทคนิค RNA sequencing และ bioinformatics ระดับสูง ซึ่งจะช่วยให้เข้าใจกลไกการตอบสนองของภูมิคุ้มกันต่อโรคติดเชื้อเขตร้อนได้ลึกซึ้งขึ้น ความรู้ที่ได้อาจนำไปสู่การพัฒนาวิธีการตรวจวินิจฉัยที่แม่นยำและมีประสิทธิภาพมากขึ้นสำหรับโรคไข้เลือดออกและโรคติดเชื้อจากแมลงพาหะอื่น ๆ

นอกจากนี้ Prof. Steven Edwards ยังได้ต่อยอดความร่วมมือกับ ภาควิชาเวชศาสตร์เขตร้อน ในการวิจัยมะเร็งท่อน้ำดี (cholangiocarcinoma) ซึ่งเป็นโรคร้ายแรงที่พบมากในภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือของไทย โดยทีมวิจัยกำลังมุ่งศึกษากลไกทางภูมิคุ้มกันที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการเกิดและการดำเนินโรค เพื่อค้นหาตัวบ่งชี้ทางชีวภาพสำหรับการตรวจพบโรคตั้งแต่ระยะเริ่มแรก ตลอดจนแนวทางการรักษาใหม่ ๆ ที่อาจช่วยเพิ่มโอกาสรอดชีวิตให้ผู้ป่วย

สร้างเวทีเรียนรู้ให้แก่นักศึกษานานาชาติ

Prof. Steven Edwards ยังได้พานักศึกษาระดับบัณฑิตศึกษาจาก University of Liverpool มาร่วมทำงานวิจัยภาคสนามและเข้าร่วมเวิร์กช็อปในห้องปฏิบัติการกับนักวิจัยของคณะแพทยศาสตร์ โดยนักศึกษาเหล่านี้ได้เรียนรู้จากสถานการณ์จริงในการทำงานกับเชื้อโรคเขตร้อนและโรคติดเชื้อที่พบได้เฉพาะในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้

“ผมประทับใจในศักยภาพของมหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ที่มีทั้งบุคลากรผู้เชี่ยวชาญ ห้องปฏิบัติการที่ทันสมัย และที่สำคัญคือความทุ่มเทในการแก้ไขปัญหาสาธารณสุขของภูมิภาค” Prof. Steven Edwards กล่าว “การได้พานักศึกษาของเราเข้ามามีประสบการณ์ตรงที่นี่ ถือเป็นโอกาสล้ำค่าที่จะช่วยสร้างนักวิจัยรุ่นใหม่ที่มีมุมมองระดับโลก”

เมื่อวันที่ 21 กรกฎาคม 2568 Prof. Steven Edwards กล่าว พร้อมนักศึกษาได้เข้าพบผู้บริหารคณะแพทยศาสตร์ นำโดย รศ. ภัทรพงษ์ มกรเวส คณบดีคณบดีคณะแพทยศาสตร์ พร้อมด้วย รศ. วรัชญา พันธุ์พฤกษ์ ผู้ช่วยคณบดีฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์และสื่อสารองค์กร, รศ. สุทัศน์ สุทธิประภา หัวหน้าสาขาวิชาเวชศาสตร์เขตร้อน และ รศ. สุปราณี พันธุ์ธนวิบูลย์สาขาวิชาจุลชีววิทยา การหารือครั้งนี้มุ่งเน้นการขยายความร่วมมือด้านการวิจัย การสมัครทุนวิจัยนานาชาติ และการสร้างโครงการแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษาและบุคลากรอย่างยั่งยืน

รศ. ภัทรพงษ์ มกรเวส คณบดีคณะแพทยศาสตร์ กล่าวว่า “การได้ร่วมงานกับ Prof. Steven Edwards และ University of Liverpool นับเป็นเกียรติอย่างยิ่งสำหรับคณะของเรา ความร่วมมือนี้ไม่เพียงสร้างองค์ความรู้ใหม่ แต่ยังสร้างเครือข่ายนักวิจัยรุ่นใหม่ที่จะเป็นกำลังสำคัญในการขับเคลื่อนงานวิจัยของไทยสู่เวทีโลก”

ถ่ายทอดประสบการณ์และเสริมศักยภาพนักวิจัย มข.

นอกจากบทบาทในการทำวิจัย Prof. Steven Edwards ยังได้จัดกิจกรรมให้คำปรึกษาแก่นักวิจัยและนักศึกษาเกี่ยวกับเทคนิคการเขียนบทความวิชาการเพื่อการตีพิมพ์ในวารสารนานาชาติ รวมถึงแนวทางการสมัครทุนวิจัยจากต่างประเทศ ซึ่งเป็นองค์ความรู้ที่ช่วยเพิ่มขีดความสามารถและความน่าเชื่อถือของผลงานวิจัยจากมหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่นบนเวทีโลก

ความร่วมมือที่ยั่งยืนกว่าทศวรรษ

ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่าง คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น และ University of Liverpool เริ่มต้นขึ้นตั้งแต่ปี 2557 และได้พัฒนาเป็นความร่วมมืออย่างเป็นทางการในปี 2558 ตลอดกว่า 10 ปีที่ผ่านมา ได้ก่อให้เกิดผลงานวิจัยร่วมที่มีคุณค่า ทั้งด้านมะเร็งท่อน้ำดี การแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษา ตลอดจนความสำเร็จในการขอทุนวิจัยนานาชาติ

การมาเยือนของ Prof. Steven Edwards ในปีนี้ตอกย้ำถึงความมุ่งมั่นของทั้งสองมหาวิทยาลัยในการร่วมกันสร้างองค์ความรู้ใหม่ ๆ และยกระดับมาตรฐานการวิจัยให้ก้าวไกลในระดับนานาชาติ โดยมีมหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่นเป็นศูนย์กลางการวิจัยด้านการแพทย์และสาธารณสุขในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้

23 July 2025 – The Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, extended a warm welcome to 20 faculty members and nursing students from the Faculty of Health Sciences, Universitas Muhammadiyah of the Republic of Indonesia. They participated in a study visit at the Labour Room Unit of Srinagarind Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, on Wednesday, 23 July 2025.

The objective of this study visit was to provide the faculty and students from Universitas Muhammadiyah with valuable knowledge and practical experience from observing the Labour Room Unit. This unit is crucial for enhancing their capabilities and understanding in midwifery. Distinguished faculty members from Indonesia accompanying the students included Dr. Inggar Ratna Kusuma, S.St., MPH, Bdn. Dewi Ambarwati, S.ST., M.Keb., Bdn. Isnaeni Rofiqoch, S.ST., Sawitri Dewi, M.Keb, and Purwati, MPH.

This study visit is expected to strengthen academic ties between Khon Kaen University and Universitas Muhammadiyah. It also offers students a real-world experience observing operations at Srinagarind Hospital, which will be beneficial for applying their acquired knowledge in their professional careers.

คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น (มข.) ได้ให้การต้อนรับคณาจารย์และนักศึกษาพยาบาลจำนวน 20 คน จาก Faculty of Health Sciences, Universitas Muhammadiyah สาธารณรัฐอินโดนีเซีย เข้าศึกษาดูงาน ณ หน่วยห้องคลอด โรงพยาบาลศรีนครินทร์ คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น เมื่อวันพุธที่ 23 กรกฎาคม 2568

การมาศึกษาดูงานในครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อให้คณาจารย์และนักศึกษาจาก Universitas Muhammadiyah ได้รับความรู้และประสบการณ์จากการศึกษาดูงาน ณ หน่วยห้องคลอด ซึ่งเป็นส่วนสำคัญในการพัฒนาศักยภาพและความเข้าใจด้านการผดุงครรภ์ โดยมีคณาจารย์ผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิจากอินโดนีเซียร่วมเดินทางมาด้วย ได้แก่ Dr. Inggar Ratna Kusuma, S.St., MPH, Bdn. การศึกษาดูงานในครั้งนี้คาดว่าจะช่วยเสริมสร้างความสัมพันธ์ทางวิชาการระหว่างมหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่นและ Universitas Muhammadiyah รวมถึงเปิดโอกาสให้นักศึกษาได้สัมผัสประสบการณ์จริงจากการปฏิบัติงานในโรงพยาบาลศรีนครินทร์ คณะแพทยศาสตร์ ซึ่งจะเป็นประโยชน์ต่อการนำความรู้ที่ได้รับไปประยุกต์ใช้ในการประกอบวิชาชีพต่อไป

In a move to strengthen academic diplomacy and global health cooperation, Khon Kaen University’s Faculty of Medicine welcomed top medical educators from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan on 27 June 2025, marking a key milestone in Thailand’s regional engagement in health security.

Delegations from Avicenna Tajik State Medical University (ATSMU) and the International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM) of the Kyrgyz Republic arrived under a regional capacity-building initiative aimed at enhancing health systems and training across Asia. The visit forms part of Thailand’s broader effort to foster long-term medical and scientific partnerships with Central Asia.

Leading the delegations were Dr. Keneshbek Dzhusupov, Head of the Department of Public Health at IHSM, and Dr. Olimov Mustafo, Head of the Rector’s Office Analysis Division at ATSMU. The visitors were received by Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, MD, President of Khon Kaen University, and Assoc. Prof. Thuss Sanguansak, MD, Vice Dean for International Relations and Corporate Communication.

The program featured presentations on Khon Kaen’s medical vision, community-integrated primary care, and advanced clinical research. Delegates toured the university’s flagship Samlium Primary Care Unit, Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute (CARI), and the Academic Clinical Research Office (ACRO) — facilities renowned for pioneering work in liver cancer and international clinical trials.

Discussions focused on strategic collaboration in areas such as medical student exchanges, specialist training, joint curriculum development, and research into non-communicable diseases. Delegates also visited the neonatal intensive care unit and surgical wards, showcasing Thailand’s commitment to high-quality, patient-centered medical education.

Both Central Asian institutions are highly respected in their regions. ATSMU is the top-ranked medical university in Tajikistan, recognized for research in immunology and clinical diagnostics. IHSM, meanwhile, offers English-medium programs and attracts a diverse international student base.

คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น เปิดบ้านต้อนรับคณะผู้บริหารจากสองสถาบันแพทยศาสตร์ชั้นนำแห่งเอเชียกลาง Avicenna Tajik State Medical University (ATSMU) จากประเทศทาจิกิสถาน และ International Higher School of Medicine (IHSM) จากประเทศคีร์กีซสถาน ภายใต้โครงการความร่วมมือระดับนานาชาติด้านความมั่นคงทางสุขภาพ ซึ่งจัดขึ้นเมื่อวันที่ 27 มิถุนายน 2568 โดยมีเป้าหมายเพื่อยกระดับการแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ และส่งเสริมบทบาทของไทยในฐานะผู้นำการทูตเชิงวิชาการ

ภายในกิจกรรม คณะผู้แทนได้รับฟังการบรรยายสรุปวิสัยทัศน์และภารกิจของคณะฯ จาก ดร. พญ. นันทพร วงศ์สุรวัฒน์ ผู้ช่วยคณบดีฝ่ายวิชาการ พร้อมเยี่ยมชม หน่วยบริการปฐมภูมิ (PCU) ซึ่งเป็นการให้บริการสุขภาพแบบบูรณาการชุมชน รวมถึงการนำเสนอผลงานวิจัยจากสองหน่วยงานสำคัญ ได้แก่ สถาบันวิจัยมะเร็งท่อน้ำดี (CARI) และ หน่วยวิจัยคลินิก (ACRO) ที่มีบทบาทสำคัญในการวิจัยเชิงลึกและการทดลองทางคลินิกระดับสากล

การเจรจาหาความร่วมมือด้านการแพทย์และสาธารณสุขในอนาคต อาทิ การแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษาแพทย์ การอบรมแพทย์เฉพาะทาง การวิจัยโรคมะเร็งและโรคไม่ติดต่อเรื้อรัง ตลอดจนการพัฒนาหลักสูตรร่วมที่ตอบโจทย์สุขภาพระดับโลก

นอกจากนี้ คณะยังได้ลงพื้นที่เยี่ยมชม หอผู้ป่วยเด็กและหน่วย NICU ตลอดจน ศูนย์การผ่าตัด ซึ่งแสดงให้เห็นถึงศักยภาพของ มข. ในการจัดการเรียนการสอนแพทย์และดูแลผู้ป่วยด้วยมาตรฐานระดับนานาชาติ

การเยือนของ ATSMU และ IHSM ถือเป็นการวางรากฐานสำคัญของความร่วมมือเชิงยุทธศาสตร์ในระดับภูมิภาค โดย ATSMU ซึ่งเป็นสถาบันแพทย์อันดับ 1 ของทาจิกิสถาน และ IHSM ซึ่งมีหลักสูตรนานาชาติที่เข้มแข็ง ต่างแสดงความสนใจร่วมมือกับ มข. อย่างต่อเนื่อง ทั้งในมิติของงานวิจัย การเรียนการสอน และการพัฒนาทรัพยากรบุคคลด้านสุขภาพ

On June 23, 2025, The Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University (MDKKU), extended a warm welcome to Professor Dr. Khokiat Kengskool, Professor of Practice in Industrial Engineering and Director of International Programs for Southeast Asia, College of Engineering and Computing, Florida International University (FIU), USA. Prof. Dr. Kengskool visited the Faculty to discuss and expand future academic and research collaborations.

This visit underscores the commitment of both institutions to foster the exchange of knowledge, innovation, and experience, particularly in fields where medicine and engineering can be integrated to develop advanced and socially responsive healthcare solutions.

During the formal meeting, the administrators of the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, led by Associate Professor Thuss Sanguansak, MD, Vice Dean for International Relations and Corporate Communication, officially welcomed Professor Dr. Kengskool. The welcoming committee also included Professor Jariya Amka Welbat, PhD, Assistant for Research and Innovation, and Associate Professor Warachaya Phanphruk, MD, Assistant for International Relations and Corporate Communication.

Associate Professor Thuss Sanguansak articulated the expectations for this collaboration, stating, “The Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, is delighted to have this opportunity to engage in discussions with Professor Dr. Khokiat Kenskool. The synergy in academic and research endeavors between our two institutions, with our distinct specializations, will be a crucial driving force in creating medical innovations and elevating the quality of education to produce medical professionals with international capabilities.”

Professor Dr. Khokiat Kengskool shared his perspective on the collaborative efforts: “Khon Kaen University, particularly its Faculty of Medicine, possesses remarkable potential in both teaching and research. I am confident that this collaboration will open doors for us to jointly develop integrated research projects, facilitate student and faculty exchanges, and promote the transfer of knowledge and technology. This will ultimately lead to advancements in personnel development and innovations that can address health challenges at both regional and global levels.”

In discussing collaborative activities and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), both parties emphasized several key points: educational needs of students to ensure curricula are modern and responsive to global workforce and societal demands; cooperation on research endeavors that will lead to new knowledge discoveries and medical innovations; Cooperative Online International Learning (COIL) to provide students with opportunities to learn collaboratively even across different locations; professional development training programs for faculty and medical personnel; teleconferences to facilitate coordination and knowledge exchange; and student exchange programs to broaden perspectives and provide international learning experiences.

This meeting marks a significant beginning in establishing a foundation for concrete collaborations, which are expected to lead to the advancement of knowledge, medical innovations, and the enhanced capabilities of medical personnel and researchers at both institutions.

เมื่อวันที่ 23 มิถุนายน 2568  คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ได้ให้การต้อนรับ ศาสตราจารย์ ดร. ก่อเกียรติ เก่งสกุล ศาสตราจารย์ด้านวิศวกรรมอุตสาหการ และผู้อำนวยการโครงการระหว่างประเทศสำหรับภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ วิทยาลัยวิศวกรรมศาสตร์และคอมพิวเตอร์ มหาวิทยาลัยนานาชาติฟลอริดา (Florida International University หรือ FIU) สหรัฐอเมริกา ในโอกาสเดินทางมาเยือนและเข้าพบผู้บริหารของคณะฯ เพื่อหารือแนวทางและขยายขอบเขตความร่วมมือทางวิชาการและงานวิจัยในอนาคต

ด้านศาสตราจารย์ ดร. ก่อเกียรติ เก่งสกุล ได้แสดงทัศนะเกี่ยวกับการทำงานร่วมกันว่า “มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น โดยเฉพาะคณะแพทยศาสตร์ มีศักยภาพที่โดดเด่นทั้งในด้านการเรียนการสอนและงานวิจัย ผมเชื่อมั่นว่าความร่วมมือนี้จะเปิดโอกาสให้เราได้ร่วมกันพัฒนาโครงการวิจัยเชิงบูรณาการ การแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษาและคณาจารย์ รวมถึงการถ่ายทอดองค์ความรู้และเทคโนโลยี ซึ่งจะนำไปสู่การพัฒนาบุคลากรและนวัตกรรมที่สามารถแก้ไขปัญหาสุขภาพในระดับภูมิภาคและระดับโลก”

ในการหารือถึงกิจกรรมความร่วมมือและบันทึกข้อตกลงความร่วมมือ (MoU) นั้น ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้เน้นย้ำถึงประเด็นสำคัญหลายประการ ได้แก่ ความต้องการด้านการศึกษาของนักศึกษา เพื่อให้หลักสูตรมีความทันสมัยและตอบโจทย์ความต้องการของตลาดแรงงานและสังคมโลก ความร่วมมือในโครงการวิจัย ที่จะนำไปสู่การค้นพบองค์ความรู้ใหม่และนวัตกรรมทางการแพทย์ การเรียนรู้ออนไลน์ระดับนานาชาติแบบร่วมมือ เพื่อเปิดโอกาสให้นักศึกษาได้เรียนรู้ร่วมกันแม้จะอยู่ต่างสถานที่ โปรแกรมการฝึกอบรมเพื่อพัฒนาวิชาชีพ สำหรับคณาจารย์และบุคลากรทางการแพทย์ การประชุมทางไกล  เพื่ออำนวยความสะดวกในการประสานงานและแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้ และ โครงการแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษา  เพื่อเปิดโลกทัศน์และประสบการณ์การเรียนรู้ในต่างประเทศ

การประชุมครั้งนี้ถือเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นที่สำคัญในการสร้างรากฐานสำหรับความร่วมมือที่เป็นรูปธรรม ซึ่งคาดว่าจะนำไปสู่การพัฒนาองค์ความรู้ นวัตกรรมทางการแพทย์ และการยกระดับขีดความสามารถของบุคลากรทางการแพทย์และนักวิจัยของทั้งสองสถาบันให้ก้าวหน้าไปอีกขั้น

The Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University (MDKKU) is enhancing its diagnostic capabilities for non-tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) infections through a strategic collaboration with the Research Institute for Microbial Diseases (RIMD), Osaka University, Japan. This partnership centers on the use of cutting-edge Nanopore sequencing technology combined with specialized bioinformatics software to significantly improve the accuracy and speed of NTM detection.

From June 16 to 20, 2025, three distinguished experts from Osaka University’s Research Institute for Microbial Diseases visited MDKKU as Research Visiting Professors. During their visit, they conducted an intensive workshop on NTM detection using Nanopore sequencing and the mlstverse software platform.

The visiting professors were:
• Prof. Shota Nakamura, Department of Infection Metagenomics
• Prof. Yuki Matsumoto, Department of Infection Metagenomics
• Dr. Orapim Puiprom, Department of Infection Metagenomics

The workshop aimed to equip MDKKU researchers and hospital personnel with advanced skills in next-generation sequencing (NGS) and bioinformatics. Participants received hands-on training in sequencing protocols, data analysis, and interpretation, enabling precise species-level identification of NTM pathogens.

Leading this initiative is Associate Professor Supranee Panthanawiboon from the Department of Microbiology, through the research project titled “Metagenomic NTM Diagnosis Service Prototype for Enhanced Diagnostic and Treatment Outcomes.” The project seeks to develop and validate a novel diagnostic system using Nanopore sequencing technology to detect NTM more effectively than traditional methods such as MGIT culture.

On June 18, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Thuss Sanguansak, Vice Dean for International Relations and Corporate Communication, and Asst. Prof. Warachaya Panphruk, Assistant Dean for International Relations and Corporate Communication, hosted a welcome meeting for the visiting experts. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to review the project’s progress and discuss future collaborative directions.

“This collaboration exemplifies MDKKU’s commitment to advancing precision diagnosis and building research capacity through international partnerships,” said Assoc. Prof. Thuss Sanguansak. “The technology and expertise shared will directly benefit patient care and strengthen regional health systems. The Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, continues to expand its role as a leader in infectious disease research by embracing innovative diagnostic solutions and fostering global academic collaboration.”

Assoc. Prof. Supranee Panthanawiboon also highlighted the significance of this research: “NTM infections pose a considerable public health challenge due to their clinical similarities with tuberculosis, yet they require distinctly different treatment strategies. Rapid and accurate species-level identification is essential, as many NTM strains are resistant to conventional anti-TB medications. This collaboration will improve clinical decision-making, reduce diagnostic delays, and ultimately lead to better patient outcomes.”

The Research Institute for Microbial Diseases (RIMD) at Osaka University, established in 1934, is internationally recognized for its pioneering contributions to microbiology, immunology, and oncology. Since its inception, RIMD has played a vital role in the control of infectious diseases through the identification of new pathogens, elucidation of microbial pathogenesis, and development of vaccines and diagnostic tools. The institute has also made major advances in life sciences through discoveries in oncogenes, cell fusion phenomena, and the innate immune system. Today, RIMD continues to uphold its global reputation as a center of excellence in microbial and biomedical research.

คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น จับมือ Osaka University พัฒนาระบบวินิจฉัยเชื้อ NTM ด้วยเทคโนโลยีชั้นสูง Nanopore Sequencing

คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น เดินหน้าสานต่อความร่วมมือระดับนานาชาติด้านวิจัยกับสถาบันชั้นนำของโลก โดยล่าสุด ได้ต้อนรับผู้เชี่ยวชาญ 3 ท่านจาก Research Institute for Microbial Diseases (RIMD), Osaka University ประเทศญี่ปุ่น เข้าร่วมดำเนินกิจกรรมวิชาการภายใต้โครงการ Research Visiting Professor ระหว่างวันที่ 16–20 มิถุนายน 2568 เพื่อถ่ายทอดองค์ความรู้ด้านเทคโนโลยีชีวสารสนเทศและการวินิจฉัยเชื้อ Non-Tuberculous Mycobacteria (NTM) ด้วยเทคนิค Nanopore Sequencing และซอฟต์แวร์ mlstverse แก่นักวิจัยและบุคลากรทางการแพทย์ของคณะฯ

โดยทั้งสามท่านปฏิบัติหน้าที่ในฐานะ Research Visiting Professors ได้จัดอบรมเชิงปฏิบัติการให้แก่คณาจารย์ แพทย์ และนักวิจัยของคณะฯ เพื่อเสริมสร้างทักษะด้านการจัดลำดับพันธุกรรม (sequencing) การเตรียมตัวอย่าง และการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเชิงลึกจากเชื้อ NTM ซึ่งเป็นเชื้อก่อโรคในระบบทางเดินหายใจที่มักมีลักษณะใกล้เคียงกับวัณโรค แต่ต้องใช้วิธีการรักษาแตกต่างกันโดยสิ้นเชิง

โครงการนี้นำโดย รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร. สุปราณี พันธุ์ธนวิบูลย์ สาขาวิชาจุลชีววิทยา ภายใต้หัวข้อวิจัย
“การพัฒนาต้นแบบบริการตรวจวินิจฉัย NTM โดยเทคนิค Metagenomic analysis เพื่อเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพในการตรวจวินิจฉัยและการให้ยารักษา”  ซึ่งมีเป้าหมายเพื่อพัฒนาระบบการตรวจวินิจฉัยเชื้อ NTM ที่มีความแม่นยำและรวดเร็วยิ่งขึ้น โดยเปรียบเทียบกับวิธีมาตรฐานปัจจุบัน เช่น การเพาะเชื้อด้วยระบบ MGIT โดยอาศัยการประยุกต์ใช้เทคโนโลยีระดับสูงจาก Research Institute for Microbial Diseases, Osaka University เพื่อให้สามารถแยกแยะชนิดของเชื้อในระดับ species และ subspecies ได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ

เมื่อวันที่ 18 มิถุนายน 2568 คณะแพทยศาสตร์ ได้จัดพิธีต้อนรับคณะผู้เชี่ยวชาญจากญี่ปุ่น โดยมี รองศาสตราจารย์ นพ. ธรรศ สงวนศักดิ์ รองคณบดีฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์และสื่อสารองค์กร และ ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ พญ. วรัชญา พันธุ์พฤกษ์ ผู้ช่วยคณบดีฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์และสื่อสารองค์กร ร่วมให้การต้อนรับอย่างเป็นทางการ พร้อมหารือแนวทางการดำเนินงานในระยะยาว

รองศาสตราจารย์ นพ. ธรรศ สงวนศักดิ์ กล่าวว่า “ความร่วมมือครั้งนี้ตอกย้ำความมุ่งมั่นของคณะฯ ในการสร้างระบบการวินิจฉัยโรคที่แม่นยำและมีประสิทธิภาพ ผ่านการแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้กับพันธมิตรระดับโลก การประยุกต์ใช้เทคโนโลยี Nanopore Sequencing และแพลตฟอร์ม bioinformatics จาก Research Institute for Microbial Diseases, Osaka University จะช่วยยกระดับการวินิจฉัยโรคในระดับภูมิภาค และเป็นประโยชน์ต่อการดูแลผู้ป่วยในระยะยาว”

รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร. สุปราณี พันธุ์ธนวิบูลย์ กล่าวเสริมว่า“ปัญหาเชื้อ NTM ถือเป็นความท้าทายระดับโลก เนื่องจากลักษณะอาการของโรคคล้ายกับวัณโรคทั่วไป แต่ใช้ยาและแนวทางการรักษาแตกต่างกัน การวินิจฉัยให้ได้ชนิดเชื้ออย่างแม่นยำจึงเป็นสิ่งจำเป็น การร่วมมือกับ Research Institute for Microbial Diseases, Osaka University ช่วยเติมเต็มศักยภาพด้านการวินิจฉัยของไทยอย่างมีนัยสำคัญ”

ทั้งนี้ Research Institute for Microbial Diseases (RIMD) ของ Osaka University นั้น ก่อตั้งขึ้นตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2477 และถือเป็นหนึ่งในสถาบันวิจัยที่มีชื่อเสียงระดับโลกด้านจุลชีววิทยา ภูมิคุ้มกันวิทยา และมะเร็งวิทยา โดยมีผลงานการค้นพบเชื้อก่อโรคใหม่ การพัฒนาวัคซีน และเครื่องมือวินิจฉัยที่ได้รับการยอมรับอย่างแพร่หลาย รวมถึงการค้นพบ oncogenes และการศึกษาระบบภูมิคุ้มกันแต่กำเนิดซึ่งล้วนมีอิทธิพลอย่างยิ่งต่อความก้าวหน้าของวิทยาศาสตร์สุขภาพในระดับสากล

On May 26, 2025, the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, officially welcomed a delegation from Kumamoto University, Japan. Representatives from the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Medicine, escorted the distinguished guests for a courtesy visit to the Dean and executives of the Faculty of Medicine.

The welcoming event was led by Assoc. Prof. Pattarapong Makarawate, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, along with Assoc. Prof. Thuss Sanguansak, Associate Dean for International Relations and Corporate Communication. Discussions during the visit focused on potential academic collaborations between the two institutions.

As part of the visit, the delegation from Kumamoto University had the honor of serving as dissertation committee members for doctoral students in the International Program in Medical Biochemistry and Molecular Biology:

– Prof. Seiji, serving as the Chair of the Dissertation Examination Committee

– Prof. Goro Sashida, acting as an external expert

This visit highlights the ongoing academic collaboration between Khon Kaen University and Kumamoto University, aiming to strengthen international education and research. The meeting provided an invaluable opportunity for knowledge exchange and academic experiences while fostering strong institutional relationships. วันที่ 26 พฤษภาคม 2568 คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ได้ให้การต้อนรับคณะผู้แทนจาก Kumamoto University ประเทศญี่ปุ่นอย่างเป็นทางการ โดยผู้แทนจากสาขาวิชาชีวเคมี คณะแพทยศาสตร์ เป็นผู้พาอาคันตุกะเข้าเยี่ยมคารวะคณบดีและผู้บริหารคณะแพทยศาสตร์

การต้อนรับครั้งนี้นำโดย รศ. นพ. ภัทรพงษ์ มกรเวส คณบดีคณะแพทยศาสตร์ และ รศ. นพ. ธรรศ สงวนศักดิ์ รองคณบดีฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์และสื่อสารองค์กร ซึ่งได้หารือเกี่ยวกับแนวทางความร่วมมือทางวิชาการระหว่างสองสถาบัน

孔敬大学医学院热烈欢迎来自日本熊本大学的代表团。

2025年5月26日，孔敬大学医学院隆重接待来自日本熊本大学的代表团。医学院生物化学系的代表陪同贵宾拜访医学院院长及管理层，进行礼节性访问。

此次迎接仪式由孔敬大学医学院院长 Pattarapong Makarawate 副教授主持，国际事务与企业传播副院长 Thuss Sanguansak 副教授共同参与。

双方在会谈中就未来两校间的学术合作进行了深入交流。此次访问的一项重要内容是熊本大学专家作为博士论文答辩委员会成员，参与孔敬大学国际医学生物化学与分子生物学博士项目的论文评审工作，包括：

• Seij 教授 – 担任论文答辩委员会主席
• Goro Sashida 教授 – 担任外部专家

此次访问彰显了孔敬大学与熊本大学之间持续的学术合作，旨在加强国际教育与科研交流。双方通过本次交流活动，增进了相互了解与合作关系，并为今后的长期合作奠定了坚实基础。

On May 21, 2025, Professor G. Allen Finley, MD, FRCPC, FAAP, an internationally renowned expert in pediatric anesthesia and pain management from Dalhousie University, Canada, paid an official visit to the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University (KKU).

The visit was part of his assignment as an Overseas Visiting Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology from May 11-22, 2025. He was warmly welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Daris Theerakulpisut, Assistant for International Relations and Corporate Communication, during a courtesy call on the Faculty’s administration. Professor Finley was accompanied by Assoc. Prof. Panarat Ratanasuwan, Head of the Department of Anesthesiology, and Assoc. Prof. Wimonrat Sriraj.

During his stay, Professor Finley is scheduled to deliver lectures and conduct workshops on key topics including Pediatric Anesthesia, Acute Pain Management, Pediatric Pain and Palliative Care, and Pediatric Pain Research. He will also provide hands-on teaching in pediatric surgery and the pain clinic, participate in team discussions on anesthesia in vulnerable patients, and consult on research proposals by medical interns and residents.

His engagement also includes leading sessions in the Pre-Congress Workshop, focusing on “Pediatric Anesthesia” and “Manuscript Writing in Pediatric Pain Research,” as well as offering academic support in postgraduate program development.

In addition to academic activities at KKU, Professor Finley also joined the departmental team in visiting two regional hospitals—Roi Et Hospital and Kalasin Hospital—as part of the Health Region 7 Pain Management Network Meeting. His participation in this regional collaboration reflects the Faculty’s active role in strengthening pain management services and capacity building throughout Northeastern Thailand.

This visit underscores the Faculty’s commitment to fostering international collaboration and advancing medical education and research in anesthesiology and pediatric pain management.

เมื่อวันที่ 21 พฤษภาคม 2568 Professor G. Allen Finley, MD, FRCPC, FAAP ผู้เชี่ยวชาญระดับโลกด้านวิสัญญีวิทยาเด็กและการระงับปวด จาก Dalhousie University ประเทศแคนาดา ได้เดินทางมาเยือนคณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น (มข.)

การเยือนครั้งนี้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของภารกิจในฐานะศาสตราจารย์ผู้มาเยือนจากต่างประเทศ (Overseas Visiting Professor) ประจำสาขาวิชาวิสัญญีวิทยา ระหว่างวันที่ 11-22 พฤษภาคม 2568 โดยในโอกาสนี้ ศาสตราจารย์ Finley ได้เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะผู้บริหารคณะฯ ซึ่งได้รับการต้อนรับอย่างอบอุ่นจาก รองศาสตราจารย์ ดริส ธีระกุลพิศุทธิ์ ผู้ช่วยฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์และสื่อสารองค์กร ทั้งนี้ ได้รับการนำเยี่ยมโดย รองศาสตราจารย์ พนารัตน์ รัตนสุวรรณ หัวหน้าสาขาวิชาวิสัญญีวิทยา และ รองศาสตราจารย์ วิมลรัตน์ ศรีราช

ในระหว่างการเยือน ศาสตราจารย์ Finley มีกำหนดบรรยายและจัดการอบรมเชิงปฏิบัติการในหัวข้อสำคัญ ได้แก่ วิสัญญีวิทยาเด็ก การจัดการอาการปวดเฉียบพลัน การดูแลแบบประคับประคองในเด็ก และการวิจัยด้านการระงับปวดในเด็ก รวมถึงร่วมสอนภาคปฏิบัติในห้องผ่าตัดเด็กและคลินิกระงับปวด เข้าร่วมการประชุมทีมวิจัยในหัวข้อการระงับปวดในผู้ป่วยกลุ่มเปราะบาง และให้คำปรึกษาเกี่ยวกับข้อเสนอการวิจัยสำหรับนักศึกษาแพทย์และแพทย์ประจำบ้าน

นอกจากนี้ ศาสตราจารย์ Finley ยังทำหน้าที่เป็นวิทยากรในเวิร์กช็อปก่อนการประชุมวิชาการ (Pre-Congress Workshop) ในหัวข้อ “วิสัญญีวิทยาเด็ก” และ “การเขียนต้นฉบับงานวิจัยด้านการระงับปวดในเด็ก” พร้อมให้การสนับสนุนทางวิชาการในการพัฒนาหลักสูตรระดับหลังปริญญา

ในโอกาสเดียวกันนี้ ศาสตราจารย์ Finley ยังได้ร่วมเดินทางกับทีมสาขาวิชาวิสัญญีวิทยา ไปยังโรงพยาบาลร้อยเอ็ด และโรงพยาบาลกาฬสินธุ์ เพื่อเข้าร่วมประชุมเครือข่ายการระงับปวดในเขตสุขภาพที่ 7 ซึ่งแสดงให้เห็นถึงบทบาทของคณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ในการส่งเสริมเครือข่ายความร่วมมือระดับภูมิภาค และการพัฒนาศักยภาพด้านบริการการระงับปวดในภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือของประเทศไทย

G. Allen Finley 教授作为海外客座教授访问孔敬大学医学院

2025年5月21日，来自加拿大戴尔豪斯大学（Dalhousie University），全球知名的儿童麻醉与疼痛管理专家 G. Allen Finley 教授（MD, FRCPC, FAAP）访问了孔敬大学医学院。

此次访问是他作为“海外访问教授”（Overseas Visiting Professor）于2025年5月10日至24日期间，在麻醉学系担任访问任务的一部分。访问期间，Finley 教授礼节性拜访了学院领导，并受到了孔敬大学医学院国际事务与企业传播助理院长、Dris Theerakulpisut 副教授的热情接待。此次行程由麻醉学系主任 Panarat Rattanasuwan 副教授和Wimonrat Sriracha 副教授陪同安排。

在访问期间，Finley 教授开展了一系列讲座与实务培训，涵盖儿童麻醉、急性疼痛管理、儿童姑息治疗及儿童疼痛研究等重要主题。他还参与了儿科手术室及疼痛门诊的临床教学，参加了以“脆弱群体疼痛管理”为主题的研究团队会议，并为医学生和住院医师的研究提案提供专业建议。

此外，Finley 教授还担任即将举行的学术年会的会前工作坊（Pre-Congress Workshop）讲者，主题为“儿童麻醉”以及“儿童疼痛研究论文撰写”，并提供关于发展研究生课程的学术支持。

与此同时，他还随孔敬大学麻醉学系团队前往黎逸府医院与加拉信府医院，参与第七健康区疼痛管理网络会议，展现了孔敬大学医学院在推动区域合作网络建设及提升泰东北疼痛管理服务能力方面的重要角色。

On May 13, 2025, the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University (KKU), warmly welcomed Dr. Cheng B. Saw, PhD, FAAPM, a leading radiation therapy expert from the United States and currently Director of Medical Physics at the Northeast Radiation Oncology Centers (NROC). His visit was part of an ongoing collaboration with the Department of Radiology aimed at exploring advancements in radiation therapy and future academic partnerships.

Dr. Saw expressed his intention to support the department’s initiatives following his retirement at the end of 2025. His shared vision includes the establishment of the region’s first Proton Therapy Center, the development of Master’s and Doctoral programs in Medical Physics, and enhanced teaching and training for radiology residents, medical students, and radiologic technology students.

During the visit, Assoc. Prof. Warinthorn Puttarak, Head of the Department of Radiology, accompanied Dr. Saw to meet Assoc. Prof. Pattarapong Makarawate, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, for an official introduction. The meeting focused on potential collaboration opportunities, including engaging international experts to advance academic, research, and clinical services within the department.

เมื่อวันที่ 13 พฤษภาคม 2568 ที่ผ่านมา คณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ได้ให้การต้อนรับอย่างอบอุ่นแก่ Dr. Cheng B Saw, PhD, FAAPM ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านรังสีรักษาระดับแนวหน้าจากสหรัฐอเมริกา ซึ่งดำรงตำแหน่ง Director of Medical Physics, Northeast Radiation Oncology Centers (NROC) โดยการเยือนครั้งนี้เกิดจากความร่วมมือกับสาขาวิชารังสีวิทยา เพื่อหารือแนวทางในการพัฒนาศักยภาพด้านรังสีรักษาและการศึกษาร่วมกันในอนาคต
