Dr. Jia LI, PhD, PG Cert., a scholar from a world-leading medical institute, namely the Section of Computational and System Medicine, Department of Surgery and Cancer
International Phenome Training Centre, Imperial College London, UK, paid a courtesy visit to an executive administrator of the Faculty of Medicine, KKU (Associate Professor Supat Sinawat, MD, MSc, FRTCOG, FICS, Associate Dean for International and Cooperation Strategies) on Friday 5 April 2019.
This staff exchange activity took place under the memorandum of understanding between two medical schools of ICL and KKU. The coordinators of this collaboration activity were Assistant Professor Dr. Ubol Cha-on and Dr. Jutarob Phetcharaburanin, Department of Biochemistry, MD, KKU
On this occasion of an expert from ICL (Dr. Jia Li) visiting Khon Kaen between March 30 and April 7, 2019, in the role of overseas visiting scholar. The purposes of this exchange program were:
a) to be an international supervisor by sharing academic knowledge and experience with postgraduate students of MD-KKU and postgraduate students of other Faculties in KKU registered on the academic courses: MD637 712 Systems Biology. Her academic assistance to students of KKU will help them to learn modern technology and research methods as follows: Metabolomics; Microbiomics; and Cytomics;
b) to develop the co-research project between Imperial College London and MD-KKU on “Faecal Metabolome Signature of Periductal Fibrosis as Early-Stage Cholangiocarcinoma Biomaker Panel”;
c) to provide chances for MD-KKU researchers to have research cooperation with researchers from a World leading institution which will help to enrich the skills of current research methods of Thai researchers; and to strengthen the linkage between our two medical schools
