Queen Sirikit Heart Center of the Northeast


The Queen Sirikit Heart Center for the Northeast Thailand is to be a center of excellence for cardiovascular treatment and research and for training specialists in this field for service in Thailand.

The Queen Sirikit Heart Center of Northeast Thailand, a 200- bed facility, was built to commemorate the 60th birthday of HM the Queen. June 17th, 1991, the Heart Center received permission from HM Queen Sirikit to use her name for the Center. December 30th, 1992 a royal Decree officially established the Center. January 24th, 1994, HRH Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn placed the foundation stone for the Heart Center and March 9th, 2006, the Center was completed.

The Heart Center is an independent institution of Khon Kaen University. The Heart Center’s responsibilities included: education, research and academic services for cardiovascular disease in the Northeast.
